Smelly Well Water

We have smelly well water. We replaced the rod in our hot water tank and now it smells worse. Any suggestions?

RE: Smelly Well Water

We have a sulphur smell to our well water. Our solution is a "whole house filter" installed between the well pump and the water storage tank. Use a carbon filter in this housing. This filter system is available at Lowe's. It eliminates sediment and odors.
Then we also have a faucet mount Pur filter on the kitchen faucet to filter cold water for drinking, cooking and coffee. It has eliminated the odor.

Saw the rod off and throw it away. I learned this when I first came to Ohio. Just put the stub back in the hole or a pipe plug.
