Getting the Lumps out of Lumpy Cushions

I wanted to find out if there is a way to replace the fill in my couch cushions so they are not lumpy. I have two children and two dogs that really take a toll on our sectional sofa. The pillows and the cushions for the back of the couch have zippers, which is great when you need to periodically need to replace the fill and clean the cushions, but I can seem to get the lumps out. Any ideas? Thanks a bunch

RE: Getting the Lumps out of Lumpy Cushions

I'm not sure if you could do this or not, depending on if you could remove the cover. But, my husband works for a factory that makes foam for mattresses, among other things and you can get scrap foam from a place like this for really cheap and sometimes free. $2-$4 for a cushion. you can measure one and maybe call a place that sells mattresses in your area and they could help you locate a factory, or possibly they would have some ideas. Probably even just a regular furniture store could give you some ideas. Hope this helps.

I hope someone submits some ideas! I'm having the same problem with lumpy filling in my dog beds. It starts out just fine, but soon aggregates into clumps...
