You can also us a large lemon cut in half and in a bowl big enough to hold both halves, squish it a little to release some of the juice, microwave on high for 2 minutes, if that is not suitable then use a measuring cup 1/2 full add a teaspoon + of vanilla and microwave on high for 2 minutes, may need to add 2 minutes more if the smell is still there and add another teaspoon of the vanilla, it is sure to help as well as it will make the house smell lovely as well.

Put a bowl with baking soda in it into the oven and turn on for 1 minute at a time and see if that will remove the "scent", It worked for me after my kids thought popcorn would look " cool " black. They were not allowed microwave popcorn again!
