I have an idea. You could make heart shaped cookies with sticks in them like a lollipop. then decorate them and then stick them in a basket like a bunch of flowers!

Use a large hurricane globe and fill it half-full with a BIG bag of candy hearts, then place a pink or white or red pillar candle on top of the hearts.. Fill more hearts around the candle just about half way... A few of the candies might get wax on them if you burn the candle..
I use this centerpiece all the time and change it for the seasons... nuts for fall, shells for summer, candy corn for halloween.. very cute and versatile.

Too late for this year, but ideas for next year...my daughters birthday is in January, but we had to do her party in February. We did her party Valentine's weekend with a Valentine theme.
Buy a rubber foam stamp (or make your own from cutting a potato or kitchen sponge) of lips, X's and O's and hearts. In pinks and red stamp all over your tablecloths or just the napkins. Make your own napkin rings by buying those foam shapes and gluing them together (Elmer's School Glue works great) and cutting strips from a sheet of the same kind of foam and glue into a ring with your lip shapes or heart shapes glued to the top.
If you are doing it for teens or an older group, you can get simple crafting wire like is used for jewelry and wrap a few wraps around a toilet paper tube and put a few beads on each end and using pliers you can fold the end of the wire closed to prevent the beads from slipping off. You can use the hear beads, or red, pink, white and clear beads.
We took the paper lace doilies and taped them all over the house. You could use these for name cards and set them on their plates.
A very simple centerpiece is a heartshaped bowl or plate filled with Valentine candy or cookies. Cut some curling ribbon in pinks, red and white and cut at various lengths and curl and scatter all over table as confetti. It is easier to clean up and very inexpensive.

An easy centerpiece is a heart shaped cake. Bake two cakes, one square and one round. Place the square one like a diamond and cut the round one in half and put the two halves on either side of the top of the diamond. Wala, a heart shaped cake
Cover the table with red beads, fill glasses with red confetti or beads. Go to the dollar store, they have all kinds of things. If you are really broke, you can draw hearts on a sheet using a red permanent marker and set the cake on top or cut hearts out of a old box or paper and color them red, etc.
