My doctor did both! He prescribed a pill with twice the mg and did a 90 day supply. With cutting them in half, I have enough for 6 months. Since I have mail order RX, the cost is the same as it would've been for a 30 day supply at the local pharmacy. I learned the pill-cutting trick from my Dad. A pill cutter costs about $5 and mine has a storage area for the cut pills and child safety latch feature.

We don't have prescription coverage & live on a fixed income. Mom has been getting this done for a while now with her blood pressure medication.
It makes sense as in Dollars & Cents .Why pay more for the same thing? & Mom cuts about a weeks worth at a time & puts them in another bottle .
There's no kids so we don't need the child & frequently Adult proof caps.

We asked our Dr. to give us perscriptions for more than one month....the perscriptions we need cost more per month.....our Dr. perscribed them for 90 days and they are quite a bit cheaper than they are for the 30 days.....

Some medications must be taken whole and aren't to be cut or crushed. Please ask your doctor first.
