Hard Water Stains In ToiletGwen Smith from Palatka, FL Feedback About This Post:RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletFlush your toilet and pour bleach into the "back" of the toilet let it set for 3 hours and then flush. No Scrubbing needed How great is that! Post by sandi65 RE: Seymour The CatThanks all of you - he really has turned out to be the sweetest little darling! Sorry I have been away so long. Post by lindancs RE: Seymour The CatWhat a cutie pie and I hope he will bring you many years of joy! Post by florida gal RE: Seymour The CatWhat a cutie. My Harryboy showed up on our door step as well. He's been a part of our family for 3 years now. We also had another cat who showed up on our doorstep and he was with us for 16 wonderful years. I think they are a little extra blessing sent from God. :) Post by crazylena RE: Seymour The CatIsn't it wonderful how some of our best friends in the animal world just show up at our doorsteps on in our lives when we least expect it! What a special little doll you have there! Beautiful cat! Post by Cyinda RE: Seymour The CatLucky Seymour! I'm glad he found such a good person. Post by ginnee RE: Hard Water Stains In Toilet
Using bleach will just exacerbate the problem if you have rust. Post By Nicole (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletAfter reading Kris's advice on "The Works" found at Dollar Tree I went out and bought a bottle. THANK YOU! "The Works" works! I followed the directions; actually drained both of my toilets and applied "The Works". Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and my toilets look like new! The best is that buying the product at the Dollar Tree only cost one dollar, I would have spent much more for the result I have received. I am going to go back to buy more bottles to have on hand so I am ready for signs of the next lime buildup. Post By Deb, Acton, ME (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In Toilet
After trying several things, I went out today and bought The Works. The whole bottom of my toilet was stained brown from the deposits. I drained most of the water out of the toilet and put in roughly 1/2 the bottle and let it sit for several hours. I couldn't believe how this stuff worked, my toilet now looks brand new. I am amazed! Post By Kris (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletThanks everyone for all the suggestions. Heading to Home Depot now to get a few things to try in the toilet. Wish me luck. Out of all I have read, I have heard no one mention vinegar. My research on the internet mentions a drained toilet bowl and 1 liter of vinegar in the bowl/scrub and add 1 liter of pure vineger to water tank to get the rim on the next flushing of the toilet. Post By Enter your name.Crystal (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletI just purchased a pool stone (found with the pool supplies at Home Depot) and used it on my toilet and finally the stains are gone. It took little effort to do this and now my bowl is clean again. Post By Karla (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletThe pumas stone doesn't work either. Don't buy it. Post By courtney (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletThanks Everyone! Post by lambsden RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletOne good remedy is sulfuric acid. You need to be careful however, this stuff is DANGEROUS! You could also try Sodium Sulfide. Post By Charles Nickalopoulos (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletI've been having a battle with yellow stains in 2 of my toilets for months. I've used everything and nothing has worked. I just bought and used The works and the stains were gone with out me even scrubbing. Praise the lord, I can stop obsessing about my toilets now. Post By nicole, PA (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletWhen I can't stand looking at mine for awhile what I do is sit on the edge of the tub and just use a good old sos pad works all the time. Post By Barbara J Snyder (Guest Post) RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletAll those chemicals are great, I'm sure, but when I tackled the toilet at my Mom's house, nobody had bothered with it for decades. The buildup was half an inch thick. I used a blunt table knife, sat down on the floor and had gloves on, and carved and pried chunks loose. Now they use a thingie in the tank for prevention, but it's building up anyway. Mom is saying she likes the method where you shut the lid and say "what buildup?" Post by kimhis RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletDon't know if it will work or not, but I read recently that plain old soft drink (Coca Cola was recommended by writer) will dissolve hardwater stains. It's worth a try! Good luck and God bless you. Post by tedsmom RE: Hard Water Stains In ToiletHave you tried CLR and let it soak? It is great for removing tough stains. You may have to scrub some with a pumis type scrubber to aid in removing the stain. Post By Linda Smith (Guest Post) |
