RE: Looking For Ways To Make Money At Home

did you try the chickens that have colored eggs like martha they are a big rage for some areas..and markets...guinea hens. big market for them

I bought my mom a pair for her farm..found out that people love their eggs they are feathered watched dogs ..love to eat bugs..and the two chicks set me back a few bucks.. bought a male and female..they are great birds.

if you google about chickens and hatcherys wow that is a big business..my mother is to old for such a project..but the birds opened a whole new world..I live in the chicago land area so the hens would do me no good.

herbs is where my mom made some extra money.....she made a deal with a few restaurants to keep them supplied with fresh herbs ..plus her farmers market..use low cost pots...your best looking herbs..start small get you a few accounts..and build.

fresh eggs to local restaurants..could also make some income..fresh eggs are the best!

I have several survey companies that pay me I have belonged to for 5 years..if you would like the information I would gladly share.

also include lavander in your garden for local farmers market..this is a big seller you can dry..sell plants for the garden ..just a small bunches of dried lavender is a good seller..do a little research check the prices..you will see it is a big business..with not much investment needed..just have to make yourself some contacts...in your area...and well they pretty much are all low maintence.

if you are where you have a little room worm farms are great plus you will have extra for your birds...you can ship worms without a lot of problems..recylers love them and the castings are worth money to gardeners..they have wonderful worm farms that look like garden bins..all shapes and sizes..did you know the waste from your birds is used as a fertiliser?.....chat76 @ juno.com (remove spaces)

First, make a list of all the ways you can cut back at home. I do a lot of shopping at our Dollar Discount store. Everything is either $1 or 2/$1. They have everything from foods to cleaning supplies. I got into the habit very quickly of turning off lights. I don't need lights on during the day when the sun is streaming into the house. Too many people think they do. I cool the house in the summer the "old fashioned" way. I keep it shut up during the day. When the cool breezes start coming late at night, I open all the windows. In the morning, the house gets shut up again. I have heavy drapes and keep them closed on the side where the sun is. No need for air conditioning and, most of the time, not even a fan. In my humble opinion, it's an easy way of saving a lot of money with the power bill.

I work two jobs from home (by choice) so that I can be home with my two boys. I do home day care for three teachers (that way I have all holidays off with pay). I also am a Pampered Chef consultant - for just a few nights a month I make several hundred dollars. I choose when I work (around my husband's and childrens' schedules) and how often I work. Not only is the money good, but the perks are awesome! Every year my husband and I have "our" weekend courtesy of Pampered Chef - and I get all the new products free. Let me know if this sounds like it mught work for you or go to my website www.pmaperedchef.biz/cookwithdebbie for more info. God Bless you and your family - hang in there!

if you can raise chickens and get certified as an organic farmer you could make good money- organic poultry is very expensive and the whole organic market is rapidly growing due to the increasing demand.

The best way I have found to make money at home has been to become a Treatment Foster Care provider. It's not for everyone and each agency pays at a different rate so you need to research the requirements and pay rate. The money you receive is not considered "income" and is completely tax free, in addition, if a child has been in your home for the whole calendar year you may be able to claim them on your tax return. We earn nearly $20,000 per year from our agency. It is hard work but very satisfying if you enjoy working with teens.

Some stores will take craft items on consignment, or maybe you could sell craft items at the farmers' markets too. I've often wondered if area ski resorts might like to put a few knitted caps & mittens in their glass cases in the gift shops. Also word of mouth, if you know someone who works in an office, you could make them a scarf, vest, shawl, anything, and tell them to let people know you make and sell them. You might also do alterations and mending. Just a few ideas. Best wishes! Jayne

Do you enjoy or have the space for a garden? Farmer's markets with fresh vegetables can be a great source of income. No taxes to pay on what you make, I believe. You do need time and energy though. Very little cost for supplies compared to what you can bring in. My sister has a huge farmer's market stand and is looking at putting up a U-Pick at her place next summer.
