RE: Preventing Tomato Stains in Plastic Containers

This solution of spraying before using makes more sense to me than what I read at another sight, though I haven't tried yet. I was annoyed by other sight's chosen "best answer" that claimed it was caused by interaction of microwave on plastic and tomato. I have stains on a new plastic container, that has never been used in the microwave. Just once for storing cold tomato sauce. But the claim warned against the plastic's chemical effect on the food itself. Sounds like an unfair false alarm!

RE: Preventing Tomato Stains in Plastic Containers

I have done this for some time when cooking things like canned pasta for lunch...but would it also be safe if we kept it overnight, or for a few days...or would it eventually stain?

Keeping Tomato Stains off Containers

Keep plastic containers that hold tomato sauce clean by spraying the container with Pam before placing the tomato sauce inside. Clean up will be very easy.

Preventing Tomato Stains in Plastic Ware

To prevent tomato based stains on your plastic ware, spray the inside of each container with cooking spray before putting the tomato dish in it. Upon washing the dish, it will be good as new and no stain!
