I have a pit bull and 3 cats my youngest cat is his best friend they play all the time if it is not my cat chasing him around the house it is my pit bull chasing him I would not worry about it I am sure they will get a long fine.

I have a 10 month old Dane who LOVES to torment my cat. He has NEVER EVER hurt her or even touched her. He just chaser her, and when she hides under something; a couch for example. He cries, whines, and barks; quite a different bark than when he's upset or scared though, it's higher pitch. Sometimes he even sounds like he is talking to her. I think he is mad she wont play back. (She's terrified of him)
This is probably what's going on. Try with a cloth muzzle on, just because of the breeds tendency to hold onto things, and see what she does. Trust me, if she can't bite the cat, the cat will win if they scrap. ha ha. Everything should be fine though. It doesn't sound aggressive toward cats at all.

Just by nature Pitbulls chase smaller animals. She might not hurt the cats, but she might want to play with them. Pitbulls hate rodents and are very good at keeping them at bay so your cat might have a challenge if a mouse gets into the house. My daughter aid that pitbulls by nature don't do well with cats. She should know she owns a lot of them.

My dog is part pit bull and anything that runs away she thinks is bad. Obviously, cats by nature are going to run away, so she doesn't like cats. However, she's as gentle as can be with even small things that don't run away. She's fascinated, and even in awe of, my two little turtles. The funny thing is she tries to chase pigeons because they fly away, but sometimes they don't and she has no idea what to do. She justs stands there frozen and surrounded by pigeons. Not very helpful, but the point is, you never quite know what they'll do. This may help though...when we first moved from a very solitary place she was mean and growly to anything that came around (even as a very small puppy). As she got socialized she became very sweet. If your dog is himpering, she probably has no idea what to make of them. iIts a godd sign she's not growling though.

I know you are trying to be a good human being with this rescue but especially since this dog is already about two years old you simply can't know how she's going to react to even little children :-(
I know there are lots of awesome and gentle Pit Bulls out there but simply because of their breed they can snap without warning so I suggest you find a more appropriate home for her :-( I had a tenant once who had a really cool Pit Bull and he was the sweetest thing but one day he mauled an elderly man who was simply walking down the street :-(
Not only is she a possible threat to your cats or children who live in or visit your home but if she bites or attacks anyone you will be held financially and criminaly liable :-(

I had a part pit part boxer. We got him at 8 weeks old and at the time we had 13 cats--2 cats with kittens. By the time our dog was 10 weeks old he had killed 2 of the kittens. Tossed them up in the air and shaking them. We had the dog till she was 13 yrs old and she would always go after cats.But she was gentle as could be with kids. Just hated cats. So be careful.

The dog won't have to be angry or aggressive if the cats run. She'll probably chase and might catch. I personally don't thinnk this is a good combination. If the dog had been raised with cats...maybe.

Boy Oh Boy! You had better be super careful & ALWAYS keep a good eye on your innocent little cats because that dog may easily hurt them (thinking they are prey). I would be very wary. Why don't you call a dog trainer or dog psychologist (or even a vet) & just ask them this one question. Also, keep an eye on your cats & watch their reaction as this dog could easily freak the little sweeties out!
