Composting Pet Hair

Pet hair is compostable! When you brush your cat or dog, save the hair from the brush in a bag, and put it in your compost pile; it's mainly nitrogen. People's hair trimmings can be composted too!

You can also use hair to keep away the rabbits and deer. I have a friend that goes to the barber shop with a big bag and sweeps up the floor to bring home the hair.

I use plastic net bags from fruit and onions, fill them with dryer lint and cat hair. The birds love these for nesting material. I place them below the feeders.
