Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayJacinda Feedback About This Post:RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayMy son came with me to work today and decided my Oak desk needed a little bit of color. I was horrified when I saw all the black Sharpie artwork all over my desk. Thanks Sachi for the toothpaste advice, it worked like a charm! I used a paper towel instead of my finger, but it worked the same. You cannot tell my son drew all over my desk! Thanks for the great advice!! Post By Happy Mommy (Guest Post) RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayThanks guys. Worked great! Post By Ric Halsaver (Guest Post) RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayWe use permanent markers at work and hairspray will take it right off. Spray the area and rub off with a cloth. Post By sarah (Guest Post) RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwaySlather it with peanut butter and leave it set for a few minutes. It should wipe right off and not damage the surface. Post By Dawnmfh (Guest Post) RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayThere is a product called M-30 that is available at Dollar General Stores and it works great on almost any surface that I have tried with permanent markers, from clothes to coffee tables. Also Mean Green works very well in some instances. Post by makaylasmom RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwaySpray it with WD-40 and wipe off. It should come off easily. I agree with the Mr. Clean magic eraser...I have used it on permanent marker with success. If it does happen not to work, there is a product called Goof Off that will work. Use it carefully maybe with a q-tip to keep from damaging the finish. I bought mine at Target. Post by firemanswife90 RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayI've successfully removed permanent marker from wood by scrubbing with my finger and toothpaste. It left the spot I did it on a bit shinier than the rest but it took it right out. Post By Sachi (Guest Post) RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple StairwayI just read the other day that a lady used Right Guard deoderant spray on everything that got permanent ink marker on from her child getting hold of one. Good luck. Post By Elaine (Guest Post) RE: Permanent Marker on Hard Maple Stairway
I have gotten permanent marker off with the Mr. Clean magic eraser. It worked on the wall and ceramic tile floor. I hope it will work for you. Post by woreoutmommy |
