Sneezing Cat
I am wondering if anyone else has had a cat do this, and if they have had it fixed. I wouldn't mind the sneezing but big boogers come out, it is so icky. He still plays, eats, goes potty and sleeps fine. He gets his shots, he is inside only, and he is neutered.

I have the same problem with my 4 yr old kitty. they have told me it is "chronic feline sinusitis" if your cat does a lot of sneezing with yucky snot too. Chances are its the same thing. I have been told that there is no cure just possibly some remedies to suppress the sneezing (including feline acupuncture very expensive though). If you find any help please pass on info.

OMG! I was just in this situation. My cat Tiffany was constantly sneezing and stuffy. We could hear her enter the room and we have kitty boogers on our windows and walls. She was treated several times for sinus infections and it only helped for a week or two. They ran a bunch if tests on her (including Leukemia) and they were all negative. She can't travel without losing control of her digestive system (due to past experiences) so I didn't want to take her to the vet anymore since it wasn't doing any good. Well I was going to try to get antihistamines for her and I decided to try two things first. I got pine litter and organic food. (Goodlife Recipe). The litter didn't help at all but when I started the new food after a few weeks I noticed you can no longer hear her enter the room. I am so happy and she is feeling so much better. I call it miracle food, lol.

they never did find out what was wrong with him, about a month before he died i took him in because he would jump and miss very bad, so i called and took him in, they said he had gotten an inner ear infection, they gave him shots, and meds and was getting better even his sneezing and then when meds ended he started sneezing again and wouldnt eat much, so i was watching him closely for 2 days,made apt and went to work one day and was coming home that afternoon to take him in and he was dead on the bathroom floor. Very sad day! still miss him, he was everything to me, i told him things i couldnt tell people cause they blab. hope you find out what is wrong with your kitty! Jen

Please seriously let me know if you find out anything. My girl has been sneezing since last winter, same slimmy boogers, lots of sneezes in a row. She has been on antibiotics three times with no change. I am not going to keep giving her them. Breaks my heart and wallet trying to find a way to help her. molderb AT hotmail.com

thanks for all of the input, he just passed away last week, we took him to the vet and they gave him meds, he had gotten an ear ache and his balance was off, then they gave him 2 shots for his imune system, and 2 differant pills for his sneezing and his ear infection. He got better while he was on the pills then the sneezing got really bad and he stopped eating, there wasnt anything anyone could do, we came home and he was asleep on the floor, wont wake up, he was gone. It is so hard to loose a kitty that you have taken care of for so long. He will be missed so much! Thank you all for trying to help him. Jen

I have a cat that sneezed occasionally--with stuff that came out of its nose. It had Feline Leukemia. It is highly contagious to other cats, must be kept inside away from all other cats, and have its own liter box, food, and water bowls.

I have a cat that also sneezes all of the time. Allergies! She also has skin allergies which have been controlled by the food she eats. We're lucky though, her sneezes are relatively dry.

let me know how that works, i have even tried switching to natural food that dont have certain things in them, someone suggested that to me also. But no change...

Yup, we have one JUST like that. It is disgusting. Ours is an outdoor cat, has had all his shots, tests, etc, but still suffers from chronic sinusitis. I suspect this is the reason someone left him in our area....coz it is disturbing to say the least.
Vet pills don't work. We are presently trying to find the correct homeopathic remedy for the poor goofball....
I think I might try Zicam on him next
