Paint Peeling of Indoor Wood DoorsDenise from Pennsylvania Feedback About This Post:Textured Ceiling peelingJust tried to put a fresh coat of paint on a textured ceiling. 90% looks good. 10% the texture is peeling off. What's wrong? Post By Laura O'Brien (Guest Post) RE: Paint Peeling of Indoor Wood DoorsWere your doors painted before and you just freshened them up? If so, the doors were probably orignally painted with oil, which means you have to use the right primer. Scrape off where it's peeling all the way down to the original paint. Dip a rag in rubbing alcohol and apply it to the area. If the paint is not effected, it is oil. If it becomes tacky/sticky, it is laytex. Post By Enter your name. I'm with "luvmygingerkids" on this one... Post by Shosha RE: Paint Peeling of Indoor Wood DoorsBring the can of primer and paint to Lowes or Home Depot and ask them if there is a reason for this. Only thing I can think of is perhaps the primer was oil based and the paint wasn't? Post by luvmygingerkids |
