Removing Air From an Air Mattress

How do you remove excess air from an air mattress that you're trying to fold and put back in the box? We have a queen-size Aerobed that lifts high off the floor, so it must have several chambers. We've tried suctioning the air out with a vacuum cleaner hose to no avail. Any suggestions?

RE: Removing Air From an Air Mattress

With ours there is a flap that keeps the air from coming out in addition to the cap. It really can slow down the escape of air. Sometimes you need to put an unsharpened pencil or something like that to keep the flap open so the air can escape. Then roll and flatten as you go. That works with mine.

"Roll it" up from one side to the other & one end to the other and squish the air out. You may have to do this a couple of time BUT IT WILL WORK I KNOW.

GOOD LUCK

Try this: We just bought a queen size double air mattress... we just squeezed as much air out as possible and put in in a plastic storage tote. it stays clean and no rupturing by nails, pets or kids!

why back into the box? lol we flatten ours as much as possible keeping the seams so they are crunched and place in a bin/leaf garage bag.
