What Attracts Ticks?By Bobbiesox from St. Louis, MO Feedback About This Post:RE: What Attracts Ticks?I would say it's the sweat glands and moisture on his clothes. Bugs in general like cool damp places and his sweat glands make his shirt/clothing probably nice and damp and cool. So they may cling to him to keep cool. I would check a local vetenarian. Woman tend to sweat less therefore not producing as much cool damp areas on the clothing. Post by rosefroggie RE: What Attracts Ticks? They also sense motion since they can see some inches away, so when they see you they jump toward you hoping to latch on, even jumping up to 24 inches. They do sense warmth a bit and c02 but for the most part since they do not fly, hop or run they set up on the trails frequented by human or animal traffic(on a grass blade or bush etc.) and wait till you walk by, brush up against them and then they latch on. For more info I written an article on ticks and it may provide some do it yourself help or at least some information that may help you avoid them. http://pestcemetery.com/tips-avoiding-ticks/ Post by Dutch 1962 RE: What Attracts Ticks?Hi, Does he wear a cologne or body spray?
