Your flower is a Sedum that looks like one called Autumn Joy. It's a perennial and mine doesn't need any special care. In the fall , it will continue to get a deeper color of dark mauve or maroon. My first thought was to have a plant and bulb exchange. Since you are starting your reign in September, it's an ideal time to trade perennials, perennial seeds, and spring bulbs for fall planting. If your funds permit or you have a free newspaper, you could invite the public to come and bring some of their favorites to trade. This way you may be able to increase your membership, as well. ... RE: Uses For Baby Food Jars
I have used baby food jars for mini-snowglobes. you can buy mini ornaments for almost any holiday . glue the ornaments to the inside of the lid, let dry, put water in the jar with a few drops of glycerine, and some glitter. Put the lid back on, turn over, and you have a snowglobe.

RE: Ideas for a Trivet
If you have funds, you can buy discontinued ceramic tile from stores like home depot or lowesor local flooring stores at low prices. Stamp your design on with acrylic for glass, let dry and then add marbles at each corner for feet and you have a trivet/hot plate. Great gift for Mother's day, too! ... View related article.
