RE: Sliding Furniture
My husband is in the army. He brought home those wool blankets that no one in my family will cover up with LOL. When I move furniture, I slip the blanket under the legs and drag it. I do warn you to be very careful with your back if you do this, pushing it is also an option. ... View related article.

RE: Jerry Lee Lewis Wedding Ideas
http://www.retroplanet.com/PROD/22526 (visit for plates, napkins etc)
You can decorate with records, mr potato head, slinky's, hoola hoops, paddle balls. give your guests personalized yo-yo's with your wedding date. Hire a 50's style band. use part of your reception hall as a twister corner with 2 or 3 twister games set up. Set up a few tv's with black and white movies playing, and footage of Jerry Lee Lewis playing live (ie, Steve Allen show, Honeymooner's etc).

Call your local vintage car club and see if one or more members would like to attend, to give the parking area the 'mood'. see how many people you can fit into one car. use 'cheesy' h'or dourves like rolled up bologna with an olive, crackers with pimento loaf etc. Serve Alexanders, old fashioned, and sloe gin fizz.

Many things may seem like a 50's style wedding theme but he was at the top of his game in 1957. Pictures of Bogart (died that year) Eisenhower and Nixon pictures. Sputnik 1 and who could forget the '57 Chevy.

Wish you the best of luck with your marriage and explaining to the kids attending that a 45 was a record and not a weapon.
