| RE: Cleaning Soot From Gas Stove Off Dishes |

If your pans are aluminum the bleach will turn them black. I turned a cookie sheet black with bleach. If they are stainless steal the dish soap works or spray with a little oven cleaner and rinse in the sink, will bring off all black stuff. ... View related article. |

| RE: Storage Cans with Candy and Juice Pouches |
|
I have been doing this for many years. Have buttons, stight pins and about everything in cans. I paint a lot of my cans with acrylic paints. For the fourth of July party I painted them red and blue with white stars on them. Made silverware holders, used tuna cans for candles and some of the big coffee cans for chips, etc... They looked pretty and best of all no way will they get broken. My best gift was a couple of years ago my daughter gave me the can opener by Krupps that takes the rim off leaving a nice clean edge that is not sharp. Now I find a use for almost every can I open. They are great for children's crafts. We used coffe cans at our church for the children to make easter cans in place of baskets. The little ones enjoyed doing their own. ... View related article. |

| RE: Saving Money on Tools |
I use a lot of tools being a househandy female and some of the cheaper ones such as drill bits break. Breaking a saw blade can be very dangerous. Some of my tools I try to get the best, but like you I have found a lot of good tools cheap. Big Lots is a good place to shop and to save even more join their buzzclub. I just got an extra 20% off coupon in my email. Went shopping right away.

| RE: Cheap Christmas Gifts |
|
I have used lunch bags (I like the white best but they are now hard to find around here, brown looks just as nice) paint, stencil or the best one let kids make Christmas designs on it. You roll 2 rolls down at the top, punch 2 holes to run curly ribbon and fill it with home baked cookies, candy, a couple candy canes, a few dollar store toys, trail size shampoos, soap etc.. or whatever depending on the person you are giving the gift to. When bag is full tie a bow, curl ribbon, add nametag and you have a gift all ready to go. My family and friends all love it when I do this as they have a bag to keep, plus a lot of fun seeing what other treasure is in the bag. The kids think I am just the greatest as I give them a whole bag of candy and toys. For items I put in bag I have a bin that gets jewelry, toy cars or what ever I may find at flea markets, yard sales or on sale at stores all year. Then I have fun going though as half the time I have forgot what I put in the bin. LOL I also use a couple of dollars to buy ribbon and such whenever I see it on sale even if I don't need it at the time. I have paid as little as 5 cent for a large roll of curly ribbon. Don't just get the Christmas colors as this bag thing works great for last minute birthday and other occasions as well. Children like to come in the door with "Mom I need a birthday gift for so & so for a party tonight or tomorrow. Hope this gives you some help and maybe a new tradition to start. You can make the bags anytime during the year, rainy or sick days when the kids need something to do make bags. This is also a lot of fun for children's bible study class, if your church is visiting nursing homes or somewhere let children make bags to put little gifts in. Growing up my Mother used many brown grocery and lunch bags to wrap gifts in all hand decorated. ... View related article. |

| RE: Installing Hardwood Floor Over Vinyl Tile |
Hi Terry, I am not a floor or carpet person, just a housewife/handywoman that has tried this. DON"T do it!! You should pull up all old vinyl flooring before replacing. Takes longer, makes a bigger mess and your back will ache. But when it is done you will feel proud you did the right way the first time around. When I did this my flooring just did not lay right or look right, it was very bouncy, had to redo. I had to take everything down to subfloor to get my hardwood to lay right. You also have to think about things like threshold height and cabinet bases.
Hope this helps

| RE: Feeding a Neapolitan Mastiff |
|
Melissa had some good advice, I always go to a pet store where my "children" can go in with me. Pet stores that allow your pets generaly speaking have trained personal that can recommend food types, how offten to feed and other things. Would like to add that sometimes dogs go though a gangly stage just like our children. As they grow taller they look thinner, also when they shed. The lose of hair can make them look a little thin. If you have had her to the vet, checked for worms, etc. and he found nothing wrong I would say you are worrying to much. Do that myself. ... View related article. |
