RE: Painting Over Contact Paper
Contact paper is a bad idea! It is super sticky and will surely leave a glue residue on the wall and possibly even cause more serious damage to the wall. All the other posts are correct, you should try the fabric. But instead of dunking the whole thing in starch as suggested (sounds very messy) you can use a paint tray and roller to apply the starch to the wall. These can be purchased cheaply since they won't be used for paint. Good luck with your project :) ... View related article.

RE: Making a Room More Colorful Without Paint
There are many things that you can do to add color to your walls. Here are a few. Also, do a search for apartment decorating web sites. Even if you don't live in an apartment there are lots of ideas for adding color to walls without painting.

*Buy wall decals. They're like big stickers that aren't permanent.
*Hang colorful fabric, a blanket, or even beach towels.
*You can also "wallpaper" your walls with fabric and liquid starch. When you are ready for a change just peel off the fabric and there will be no damage to the walls.
*If you have the time (and money) you can buy enough poster board to cover a wall and paint it your desired color. Then just staple it to the wall. You can also stencil it or decorate it instead of using just one solid color. ... View related article.

RE: Covering Up Skin Blemishes Under Arms
Have you tried fade cream? It won't do anything for the bumps but it will definitely help for the darkened skin. I used Palmer's Fade Cream on my face and it really helped. I had over pigmentation (darkening of the skin) and acne scars that were very dark. It really made a huge difference. I'm not sure if it would effect your deodorant, but even if you only use it over night w/out deodorant you would probably see a difference. Hope this helps. ... View related article.

RE: Caring for Parakeets
It seems as though you only have one bird which can be a problem because birds in nature will preen (pluck feathers) from other birds. A solution for this is to put a feather duster in the cage. Your bird should preen the duster instead of over-preening itself. A dollar store duster should work well especially if you can find one a similar color to your bird. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of Cat Urine Odor from Microfiber Couch
You can puchase something called Urine Out! at Wal-Mart. It also helps to keep cats from spraying. Just remember to really saturate the area as the spray needs to reach the padding of the cushion also. ... View related article.

RE: Fly Repellent for Dogs
Flies absolutely hate the smell of mint. I would purchase some peppermint extract from the baking aisle of the grocery store and dab a small amount on your dog's problem areas. A little goes a long way. Hope this helps. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid of a Cowlick
My hair dresser told me that u can "train" your hair by blow drying it in the direction you want it to grow. I think you have to do it everyday for a while. I tried it on my daughter and it mostly worked but she's young and not crazy about the dryer. She was born with a cowlick right in the front just like yours. Hope this helps :-) ... RE: Getting Rid of Insect Bite Scars
Vitamin E is a good idea, bit if that doesn't work you should try fade cream. It used Palmer's fade cream for the acne scars on my face and it worked really well. I got it from Wal-Mart, I don't remember the exact price but I know it was less than $10. Hope this helps. ... View related article.

RE: Upholstery That Resists Cat Hair
Really the only thing that I can think of is leather or vinyl. Maybe a " slippery" fabric like satin ? It's hard to know as cat hair sticks to everything. Maybe you can try to deter your cats by using a bowl of oranges as a center piece on your table. Cats hate the smell of citrus. Hope this helps. ... View related article.
