RE: Legitimate Work at Home Jobs

Work for QVC, Home Shopping Club..that sort of thing. You need highspeed access and a landline. You need to apply online and they will tell you if they have an opening available in your area. You can choose your hours.

RE: Saving Money on Diapers
Cloth all the way!
I have 9 kids ages almost 17 down to 1. Disposables are not in the budget as I do not work...outside the home!
I always request disposables for shower gifts and they usually last through the first 3-4 months when their fannies are so tiny.

I have used all sorts of fancy diapers and rubberpants...but the best, for me, has been doubled up flat fold and prefolded. Oh an pins..velcro wears out and doesn't hold up.
I honestly just put the dirty diapers of all sorts into the diaper pail..no soaking or anything. I run the diapers ONLY through a complete wash cycle to rinse then run the load again, adding bleach..stopping for 15 minutes to soak..then turn it back on to finish out. THEN another wash cycle..add the rubber pants. DO NOT BLEACH them!!! Then into the dryer...remove the rubber pants after about 10 minutes. Sounds like alot of stinky work, but it is not so bad. I have saved almost $8000 over 16 years.

Oh and potty training... sooner with each kid. the last one, was trained by 19 months..before he'd finished nursing!

We used cloth out of financial necessity all these years..it can be done even in this modern age!

RE: Wedding Mints
Cream Cheese Mints

1 8oz. block cream cheese
1 2# bag of powdered sugar
Peppermint extract
Food coloring
Granulated sugar

Mix room temp cream cheese with the powdered sugar (best done with your
hands). Add peppermint extract to taste (we've used extracts and oils...
with oils it's a very slight amount, otherwise it's too strong... with the
extract it may be a few drops, or a bit more but I can't recall). Knead
until stiff enough to handle easily. Divide into two or three balls and
knead different food coloring into each until color is uniform.
We use silicon candy molds.... figure out about what size of small ball fits
into the mold, roll in granulated sugar (helps them come out of the mold
easily) and press into mold. Then you can pop them right out, place in
single layer on cookie sheet, and refrigerate until firm. (You can skip the
refrigeration... if you leave them out, they will eventually harden up.)

These make very pretty Christmas mints, or something special for a wedding.

If you don't have molds, and still want to do this, you can just roll the
mix into small balls, press with thumb to flatten slightly, coat with the
sugar, let harden (or not ), and EAT. :-)
You can also use other flavorings.... teaberry, lemon, and butter rum work
well; almond doesn't taste so good. ;-p
Experiment.

hope this helps!

RE: H.E. Detergent
you can use white vinegar in the rinse cycle...it will take the extra detergent/sudsing agent right out. Just use about a thrid of the usual amt of regular detergent and vinegar in the rinse. Cheaper and less chemicals than fabric softener! (we are allergic to that here) ... View related article.
