RE: Paint Colors for Kitchen with Burnt Orange Countertops
If you want a rich look, I'd go with a chocolate brown. A really clean and bright look would be to paint the walls white, and just let the orange be the color in the kitchen. ... View related article.

RE: Looking for Tiny Zip-Lock Bags
I get them at a local craft store in the beading section. I think it was a box of 100 2" bags. ... View related article.

RE: Recommendations for Vacuums
My Dyson works great with 4 cats, and all their hair. Other than the latch my husband broke, I haven't had a single problem with it, and it certainly doesn't lose suction (like the ads say). I used a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond to get a good deal on it. ... View related article.

RE: Stains On Gymboree Clothes
Try OxyClean powder or spray. I got mustard out of my daughter's shirt by soaking it in Oxyclean for 30 minutes, and adding more of the powder when I washed that load of clothes. ... View related article.

RE: Losing A Feline Friend
I am sorry for your loss. She was a member of your family, regardless of what others who don't understand might say. I lost my Sasha last year, after a brief illness. She was possibly the best cat I had ever had in my life, up to that point. There are still days that I miss her dearly.

After Sasha's illness, I had planned on holding off on getting another cat, but life had other plans for me. Within six months of Sasha's passing, I learned of two cats that were in bad situations and decided it was time to add to the menagerie. I am the first to admit that I probably wouldn't have given these two cats a second glance had Sasha still been here, so I do wonder about animals and people having a purpose in someone's life. It could be coincidental, but I'd like to think that Sasha was watching over these two for me.

Looking over the responses, I think you have a lot of willing listeners if you do want to talk. You have a lot of memories and stories of your cat, and she won't ever be truly gone as long as you have those. ... View related article.

RE: Listing Business Services Online
Depending on your business, a local online directory site is a good option. If you are a member of a professional association, they might offer a directory on their site that will allow people to search for business in their particular area. If you are wanting a website, I would recommend finding a reputable developer who understands search engines, and promoting small businesses on the web. You can spend a lot of money and not get a return on your investment, so do check references. If you need more information, or have more questions, let me know. ... View related article.

RE: Finding An Inexpensive, Basic Cell Phone Plan
I second the comment about the Tracfone. I just bought a phone for $40 and it has a promotion that doubles all the minutes for the life of the phone. You can also do a search for Tracfone codes that give you bonus minutes when you add minutes to your phone. For less than $20, I added 200 minutes that will last until December, and will carry over as long as I add minutes before then. ... View related article.

RE: My Dog's Tumor
My parents' rat terrier has several lumps that were basically fatty tumors. They are benign, and the vet said they would return if removed. I don't know if this is what you are describing, but it is something older dogs can develop. It comes down to how much you trust your vet, and if the dog is showing any signs of discomfort.

After having spent a lot of money on pets and their illnesses over the years, I know what you mean about the money side of things. I'm about to face a tough decision about my 18 year old toy poodle who has glaucoma in both eyes, because I know that she has lived a good life and that her age is going to play a big part in the decision (not to mention the $2500 price for surgery). Like someone suggested, maybe a biopsy, or a second opinion would make you feel better about a course of treatment. If you have a veterinary school in your area, you might check with them and see if they could do that for a reduced fee. ... View related article.

RE: Making Great Iced Coffee
Most iced coffee drinks are made with cold brewed coffee. It has a smoother flavor and is less acidic than regular brews. I have a Toddy coffee maker that allows me to brew a pound of coffee in cold water to make a concentrate that you can use to make any kind of coffee drink you want. I brew mine and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks at a time in the glass carafe that comes with the Toddy. Amazon.com sells a couple of brands of cold brew systems, and a google search lists several places that sell them. ... View related article.

RE: My Dog Is Afraid of Everything
Melinda, I would definitely say don't give up - it may take years for the dog to become trusting. My poodle had been abused when I adopted her, and she was terrified of everything, too. It took a long time to get her to trust people, but once she got past her "past", she became quite the dog! Definitely look into getting a crate and putting it in a quiet area where the dog feels secure while you are making noise. If she knows she has a quiet and safe spot she can go to, it should help a lot. I would also talk to a vet about anti-anxiety medications you could give her during storms, or if you have people over. ... View related article.
