RE: Is there a way to make homemade fabric softener?
This doesn't answer the question, but I think using the dryer sheets is cheaper than the liquid. I've been paranoid about using liquid fabric softener ever since I heard some years ago that it makes clothing less flame retardant. I buy the sheets at the dollar store. I wonder if maybe they could even be used more than once, or if their functionality is used up in one load. My main reason for using them is to avoid static cling -- I hate folding stuff that sticks to everything else. ... View related article.

RE: Looking For "Baked Tomatoes" Recipe
I suppose since she's your *ex* daughter-in-law, you don't get to eat the tomato dish anymore. Did you ever try duplicating it using your ideas you listed in your second post? I'd really be curious if you were able to replicate it and how you did it. It sounds like an interesting dish. ... View related article.

RE: Inexpensive Ideas For Wrapping Large Present
I like to save the color comics pages and wrap gifts with it. Then it can be recycled afterward or even used by the recipient to wrap another gift. The tablecloth idea is nice, too, or perhaps an attractive blanket draped smoothly. ... View related article.

RE: Temporary Surface For Under Picnic Table
I don't know much about how things need to be treated for outdoors, but my initial thought was to take two or four sheets of plywood, put them together somehow, and paint them -- one color, or a different color for each sheet, or some sort of design, or maybe a family effort even involving the little kids -- and then treat them with something that would be weather-resistant. I'm beginning to think the wood would just rot, though. But I like the visual I get when I think about it. ... View related article.

RE: Camouflaging A Scar When Wearing A Skirt
I agree with those who have suggested that you don't try to hide your scars (why should guys be the only ones who get to play the scar comparison game?), but I can understand why you might want to take that rather slowly, especially considering you've been hiding them for so long. I was thinking about colored tights. Or maybe dark or colored pantyhose. Maybe you could graduate to lighter hose. ... View related article.
