RE: Hydrogen Peroxide For Blood Stains
Peroxide is a wonderful stain remover .. especially on "protein" stains like blood, grass stains, red wine, ect. It works as well as bleach in many applications including as a mold and mildew remover. It can wreck colors like bleach too so testing on non-color fast materials is helpful .. Peroxide is also what gives Oxy-Clean and other "Oxy" products the power they have and is much cheaper! ... View related article.

RE: Do-It-Yourself Trash Can Composting
This is a wonderful way to have a small compost without having a section of the yard devoted to it. I'll be getting this started this weekend! ... View related article.

RE: Where can I buy spatini?
For $.79 you can purchase the recipe for making it from http://www.topsecretrecipes.com Click recipes and search for Spatini. For $.79 you can copy the recipe and make it forever!

I've tried numerous of Todd Wilbur's "copy-cat" recipes .. everything from Heinz ketchup (delicious!) to Miracle whip .. not only are these cheaper to make than to buy (at full price at least) I know what's going into these products and can elimate chemical preservatives and other gross things (like hydrogated oils and high fructose corn syrup)! ... RE: Make A Pillow Out Of A Beloved Shirt
I did this a couple of years ago for all the single women in our family for Christmas and called them "boyfriend" pillows! I took old flannel shirts, stuffed the sleeves and sewed the bottom to make a pillowcase that fit over a regular pillow. They were a cute and fun (and inexpensive) and everyone loved them! My sister's is still on her bed and makes her new husband laugh every time he sees it! ... View related article.

RE: Cream Soup Mix
What a wonderful recipe! I've never seen an alternative to Cream soups before. This is much healthier than the can soups as well and could easily be made organic by using organic ingredients! Thank you so much for posting .. I've been using things like creamed corn instead of cream of mushroom soup in casseroles to avoid all the fat and calories and preservatives in regular cream soups but this recipe will make those casseroles much more "like mom used to make" .. It would be great to add extra flavors like hot sauce or fresh herbs to the "soup" as it thickened too! Thanks again, this is wonderful! ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Fun Fruits
I make something simmilar with juice and unflavored gelatin .. one packet of gelatin to one cup 100% juice. My 2 year old loved the fruit snacks she got at Grandma's but I didn't like her eating them .. so I found this solution! We mix up flavors of juice for fun and now they've become a "treat".

Good Luck!

RE: Cheese Grater Tip
I like to freeze the cheese for 10-15 minutes rather than using extra oil .. makes grating it and cleaning up easier.

Hope that helps!

RE: Poll: Do you hang dry your clothing?
To prevent the stiff towels I throw them in the dryer for 5-10 mintues on fluff (no heat) .. they come out perfectly and still smell great.

I hang everything I can outside in the spring, summer and fall. I think its a great way to get outside while doing my least favorite chore. In the winter we let the dryer vent in to the laundry room to provide some warm moist air ..

RE: My Cakes Aren't Rising
Perhaps your baking soda or powder isn't fresh anymore if your recipe includes it. Without knowing the ingredients it's kinda hard to troubleshoot but that's my first guess!

Good luck. I hope you figure it out! :)
