RE: How do you trellis beans?
The best, easiest and cheapest way is to plant your bean seed with a couple of corn seed. Even if you don't want the corn, it makes a great trellis for beans to grow up on. My family has been doing this for hundreds of years. Our heirloom bean seed are cornfield beans, and they grow wonderfully up the corn stalks. ... View related article.

RE: What Breed is My Dog?
Here is another photo of him. After looking through a zillion dog breeds, I think he looks a lot like a Plott hound---or some kind of hound. ... View related article.

RE: Getting a Cat to Stop Spraying
Neutered cats will spray. I have three male cats all of whom are fixed. The two older ones will spray sometimes if there is tension between them. Neutering is no guarantee they will stop spraying---but you should have your cat neutered if it's not already. ... View related article.

RE: Our Dog Will Only Pee on Grass
I had this same problem when we moved to Germany. The closest grass was outside of the small town, so we'd have to walk our dog 2-3 times a day to the edge of town.

In the area we lived, ( since there was little to no grass) they had small sandboxes for the dogs to do their business in. You might try that with your dog. Mine refused the sandbox though.

Luckily, when we moved, we found a place with grass!

Good luck to you. ... View related article.

RE: Determining Fair Market Value for Donations
Speaking of the Goodwill--I'd donate to my local Goodwill, but they are so expensive! I can't afford to shop there, and I'm not poor. I guess I was under the impression that the donated items were sold at a reasonable rate, not only so the poor could shop there, but some of the monies raised from the sales went to the poor.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I wonder if anyone else feels the same way I do? I'd rather give my stuff away on freecycle, and feel good that some person who might not otherwise be able to purchase the item, could actually have the item.

If I can't afford the Goodwill, I know no poor folk can either!

My 2cents. ... View related article.

RE: Kandy (Border Collie Mix)
Why would you want to breed them? They are cute dogs, but we don't need more mixed dogs for people to abandon, abuse, neglect, get rid of, etc.
