I always wash my silk flowers. If they are in a secure arrangement I put soapy water in the sink and turn them upside down and swish around then rinse and blot with a towel and then if able to sit outside to dry. They look like brand new and I have a feeling the furniture polish will build up on them as someone else said. If they are nicotine stained from someone smoking this even cleans up with the soapy water. ... View related article. |

here are so many things you can do but a couple are as follows:
Glue them around a peice of plastic or plexi-glass that is the size of a large candle you like to use to make a candle ring.
You can glue them around a mirror the size needed to make a perfume or makeup tray.
Glue them around a flower pot to make it decorative.
I hope this gives you some ideas to go from.

A friend showed me this trick...she is a chef...When using instant potatoes and we use the potato buds...use about a tablespoon of mayonaise in them. I use that much is the 4 serving amount. Thank all of you for your replies....at the present time my Gardenia has several buds on it a few of which are about to open.....I guess I needed patience and I also read they bloom in spring and fall. I suppose I had gotten mine after a blooming and now its time for the next one. I would love to have one that lives outside in the ground but havent seen one for sale as of yet.

I have the same problem. I too am a type II diabetic but this was going on long before I developed diabetes. Other people can be high and dry and the sweat will be running down my face from my hair and face. The rest of me is perfectly dry. It is often embarrassing to be the only one dripping. I wake up at times with my hair wet and its not really hot. This is basically the only place I perspire unless of course Im working outside or in a very hot place. That surgery is not an option for me either. Im a nurse but knew of no one else with the problem I had. My husband suggested maybe it was a medication I was taking ....but again was going on before that. Sorry others have the problem but is comforting to know Im not alone with it.
