RE: National Benefits Advisory Association Reviews
I joined this "insurance" company on 2/2/09 for my husband. Discovered within the same phone call, during the final part of the review, and conveniently after I'd paid for it, that the insurance was not what I had been told it was. The representative I had talked to at the time went by the name of Jason. The manager who assured me I'd be seeing my refund in 3-5 business days, was a Megan Fulmer. Needless to say, 3-5 days came & went, with no refund. It took 2 days of phone calls & leaving ignored messages before I called and she was the one that answered the phone. I was quickly brushed off, by her telling me it was out of her hands now, and that I needed talk to customer service @ 1-877-202-7574. At that point in time, I also found their website, and was even more irate because how the website explains this insurance, is nothing even close to what this Jason - rep had told me I'd be getting. Anyway, I got hold of a Tracy Richardson in Customer service who told me I needed to send something by fax, in writing. I did that, and didn't hear anything back. I called them the next day, and at first she claimed she'd never recieved the fax...and then finally claimed she'd found it. At that point in time, she claimed it would be sent to another department, and that I should be seeing a refund sometime after the 15th of this month. Well, that day has came and went...and you can guess what ?? No refund. $249.95 was taken out of our account. I tried calling them yesteday with no success, and sent them an email. Called them again today, and after claiming at first, that no such name was in their system, then FINALLY found us, and now we're being told we should be recieving a refund sometime after the 1st. I've called my credit card company and I've filed a complaint with the insurance commisioner of our state before adding this complaint. I found another site where a rep was defending the insurance....and I guess my issue is, if you describe the insurance as WHAT IT IS, and people by it based on an educated and informed decision...that's fine - but what I was told, versus what I discovered I was purchasing - was just a lie. There's no way around it, and now that they're playing this game with the refund, one can't help but wonder if the whole of NBAA isn't a fraud.
I've just had it, and now, because we're both disabled on a fixed income, I can't purchase my husband any health insurance, until this money is refunded. ... View related article.
