| RE: Preventing Swollen Feet |
Make sure you drink plenty of water during the hot days of summer, 64 ounces a day is a minimum. Not having enough fluids can actually make our bodies retain water and have swollen feet. Also, limit the amount of sodium in your diet. Sodium makes our bodies retain water. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Vaseline will help shine your sandals. ... View related article. |

| RE: My kitten won't stop sucking on me! |
My kitten, who is now 12 years old, still has this harmless behavior. He is particulary fond of cotton fabrics. Velcro is his name and he definitely clings to me like velcro. Velcro was abandoned by his mother at the age of 4 weeks and almost died (several of his siblings did). I guess I became his mother at that time. He loves to be near me. He sleeps over my head, on my pillow and kneads and purrs all night long. He is comforted by this so I don't mind. Ask the vet what he or she thinks about the behavior. But I wouldn't be too concerned. ... View related article. |

| RE: Homemade Pin Cushion |
Never use 100% cotton batting. The pins will not go through the cotton batting. Instead, use polyester fiber fill. Mixing the polyester fiber fill with saw dust or hair (as mentioned below) is a good idea. The saw dust and hair help keep the pins sharp and smooth. ... View related article. |

| RE: Need Help Changing My Daughter's Diet |
Hunger is a state of mind unless a person is not eating anything at all. If we feed our bodies small amounts on a regular basis (3 small meals a day with 2 small snacks), our hunger is satisfied on a regular basis. Exercise is an important aspect of controlling hunger, cholesterol and sugars. Taking a walk (exercise) actually helps curb an appetite. I was an overweight teen so I can understand how your daughter feels. Please help her to loose the weight and learn how to eat healthy foods now while she is young and can reverse any health problems. It is much easier to loose the weight at the age of 15. In the long run it is cheaper to eat fruits and vegetables. Forget about eating fast food (french fries and hamburgers). Use that money to buy healthy fruits and vegetables, whole wheat breads and lean lunch meats. Good luck and let us know how her progress goes! ... View related article. |

| RE: Installing a Hand Held Shower Head |
We had the same problem. We tried more layers of the pipe tape. That helped but we ended up replacing the pipe that comes out of the wall for some other reason. We again used more layers of the pipe tape and all sealed just fine. You are right to not over tighten the shower head. We just love our hand held Water Pik shower head. It was worth the trouble. Good luck! ... View related article. |

| RE: Doing Less Laundry |
I invested in a hair towel for myself. I actually have 2- one for home and one for traveling. They are highly absorbent and save on having to use 2 towels at a time. They also stay on your hair better than a regular towel. Growing up we used a towel or two per shower. With 7 people in the household, we didn't have space for drying towels between showers. I did the laundry at a laundrymat for our family of 7 and that was alot of towels to wash after one week! Now, I use the same towel for about 1 week. ... View related article. |

| RE: Pampered Chef Baking Stones |
Pampered Chef products are the best! I don't own any of their stones yet. I do have some Southern Living terra cotta baking pots for muffins. They are wonderful. Basically they are small terra cotta flower pots without a hole in the bottom. They are seasoned by spraying them with PAM. I have perfect cornbread muffins everytime! I found other terra cotta clay pots (without holes in the bottom) from the craft store or hardware store and added some different sizes to my baking pots. ... View related article. |

| RE: Hard Bumps Appearing On Leather Boots |
If you are wearing the leather boots (or any leather shoe) in winter weather, make sure you clean them daily. The salt and chemicals used to melt snow and ice damage leather. It will cause discoloration and raised spots when left on the shoe. I use leather protectant and clean my shoes frequently during the bad weather. I prefer to use the leather lotion which will clean the shoes and add water protection. I don't think baking soda would be a problem but whatever you are walking in on a daily basis can affect your leather shoes. ... View related article. |
