RE: Fixing a Glass Door With Scratches (From A Dog)
I found this on HELP FROM HELOUISE

Scratches on Glass

Is there a way to diminish a scratch on a glass coffee table?
--Toni Roberts, Bowdon, GA

Maybe yes, maybe no. It depends on the depth of the scratch and the type of glass. You'll need to know which kind you have -- plain, glazed, or tinted -- before trying any repair. Check with your local glass company or home-improvement store for information.
To deal with light scratches on plain glass, apply a jeweler's rouge (available at jewelry-supply stores). Follow the product's directions carefully; you don't want to damage the glass further.

For tinted and safety-glazed glass (which is often used for sliding doors), consult a professional. If the scratches are serious, the safest solution may be to replace the glass, because the entire structure may have been compromised and could shatter easily -- with a gust of wind, for example, or the weight of a pet jumping against it.

RE: Looking For Cereal Box Purse Instructions
These are not my instructions and I haven't made one as yet, but I hope this helps:

Cereal box purses are more of a free-style craft than actually following a pattern. You will need:
- A cereal box -
- Rubber cement (and liquid lamination if you want a glossy effect...best results) -
- Ribbon or colorful string (for the straps) -
- Colorful paper -
- Pictures, cutouts, printouts, and/or words to paste on to the box that deal with a favorite singer, person, activity; or simply pretty pictures -
- Scissors -
- Feathers or fur (if desired) -

Instructions (which are vague because again, its free-style basically):

1. Decide the size of the purse and cut the cereal box horizontally based on the prefferred size.

2. Glue colorful paper on the inside and outside of the box.

3. Paste the pictures, cutouts, etc. in a collage manner on the outside of the box. Be creative...design anyway you like.

4. (Straps) Carefully cut a small hole on the top of the box on each side big enough for the string or ribbon to go through. Put One side of the ribbon or string through one hole and make a knot on the inside so that the ribbon or string stays put...repeat on the other side with the other end of hte ribbon or string. (make the ribbon or string long enough to fit the length of the preffered straps.

5. Brush the liquid lamination (or rubber cement if you dont have liquid lamination) over the enire box. Repeat for an extra glossy effect. Let Dry.

6. (If desired) GET CREATIVE! Glue feathers, fur, beads, string, ribbon etc. at the top of the box or where ever...the rest is up to your imagination. Also if you desire a buckle...make one! there are many different ways..use fabric, buttons and string, or part of the box...its totally up to you.

RE: Paint Splatters On Winter Coat
Do you know if it's latex or oil paint? If it's latex, I found this at ehow.com:
Goof Off, available at most hardware stores, removes latex paint from clothing. Apply it, agitate it with a brush a little, rinse and then launder the garment as usual. It worked great on a pair of cotton shorts and a pair of denim jeans. ... View related article.

RE: Make Your Own Automatic Pet Feeder
If you are a crafty person, look at this site to get an idea of how to make one. I can see that the food dispenser seems very easy to make, but the water dispenser will probably take some ingenious thinking.

RE: "In Memory Of" Gift Ideas
You could make a shadow box filled with baby boy items.

My added suggestion to your shadow box would be to line the inside with blue baby blanket. That's what I would do.

RE: Old Sofa With a Bad Spring
I also had the same problem. I took the bottom fabric off of it and repaired the spring by attaching a eyelet hook to the wood and running the spring back through it. Be forewarned, though, because it's hard work but I think it's worth it. ... View related article.
