I have raised and shown rabbits my entire life! I don't think I've ever heard the burrowing bit in boxes though. All of our rabbits are in their own cages. We generally only have litters once a year, when we decide! The best bet is to put them in their own cage and not to mix the sexes. The 13 litters a year must be what some would call free range where they are all mixed together. I do not like or approve of that method. The females(does) can cut(castrate) the bucks(males) sometimes. You also run the risk of very young does becoming impregnated. So be careful.
We do NOT sell pet bunnies. Ours are strictly show bunnies. Therefore, in our area the risk of bunnies in shelters is pretty slim. I do eat rabbit, everyone in my home does. I have a deal with another breeder for every 3 I harvest(butcher), I keep one. This deal works great for us. I did 6 on Tuesday of this week. Needless to say we had in on the grill that night. And today well the second one is in the crockpot.

I used Dr Bronners Castille soap, makes it a "green" laundry detergent then. The first batch I used the bar and had to great but then I found a store(locally) that carries the liquid. I like to use Lysol 4 in 1 on everything in my kitchen. But hated using those darn sponges to clean. I tried the trick about putting them in microwave for a few seconds to kill germs but ended up burning a hole in it! Boy was that smell hard to get rid of. So the next time I went to the Dollar store I found a pack of blue reusable cloths. I cut them in half and placed them in a recycled baby wipe container(yes still use them..even though baby is now 3). I poured straight 4 in 1 onto the cloths. Now I just pull out one a wipe down entire kitchen. Its full strength so its a full disenfectant. Once I'm done, I toss in laundry basket and wash with the towels. Once cleaned and dried I add back to baby wipe container. I think in the last 3 months I've had to add 4 in 1 twice. It works great and disenfects the best! ... View related article.
We live in a 16X80 mobile home. I found that that the front 2 bedrooms and bathroom seem to get all the "goodies" from our Central ac/heat unit. In the summer those rooms are the coldest and in the winter they are the hottest. The LR, Kitchen and Master Bedroom suffer! So I keep the vents shut in the front part of the house. It forces air into the other parts of the house. Accompianed by a few box fans and ceiling fans. I keep the thermostat set on 75 and so far we have been pretty comfortable this spring. ...
