Thank you, metroplex. That is more like the one that I am looking for! The last one that you so kindly found for me, I can just add more goodies. When I was younger, I used to make these in Feb., wrap in brandy soaked cheese cloth, then foil, stored in a cool dark place. Yummy at Xmas, same with Plum puddings. If you have a chop saw, which I do! I thoroughly clean the blade with steel wool, soap, touch of bleach and water, dry completely...and voila! It has the power to cut thru it easily! I do this with large, beef & pork roasts, which I buy from Costco! thoroughly freeze, then cut into any size portions you wish! I just don't like double freezing meat! Good luck! ... From what I understand, if you scratch the bark with your thumbnail, just lightly and the cambium layer is still green, there is a chance the trees will live, but will not replace branches where they have died off! I, too, live alone, and live a hectic life, so when I cook, it's for several meals! I purchased a "Food Saver" last fall....and don't know how I live this long without one! Not only the extra cooking, but now do now canning as my trusty Food Saver looks after all! It has paid for itself time & again! Great idea...but I am concerned about "Swiffer!" Have just received an email (checked on Snopes)...the chemical cleaner in "Swiffer" is causing liver failure in our pets, and there is a warning (very small print) on the package about animals & children! The chemicals used are very close to "anti-freeze" which we all know is toxic! ... View related article.
