| RE: Chocolate Pudding Cake |
Robin I love your recipes! Before I attempt this one, please clarify something for me.
"Mix sugar and cocoa in topping and sprinkle over cake. Pour 1 3/4 cup very hot water over all through a slotted spoon, slowly."
Do you mean mix the brown sugar and cocoa together AS the topping and sprinkle the mix over the cake batter? Then drizzle the hot water over the entire thing? Thanks! ... View related article. |

| RE: Tamale Pie |
Tried this last night but either I read the directions wrong or it needs some tweaking. I did use frozen corn which added some moisture, but the cup of water really watered it down.
The tomato soup was an odd addition. It didn't make it saucier at all, in fact, there was no sauce to it by the time it was done. It was basically hamburger, corn, peppers, onions and spices with corn bread on top. Was it supposed to be tomato sauce?
When it says "top with prepared corn bread" I assume you meant pre cooked cornbread, right? Just mixed like it was ready to be baked, the batter?
But it did taste good so I'll make it again with my tweaks. ... View related article. |

| RE: Raising Chickens |

Hens are quiet, only roosters crow. A portable chicken house/run is preferable so they can get fresh grass, bugs, etc. Yes, it IS worth the effort! We started raising chickens two years ago and now that I've enjoyed fresh farm eggs daily, even through the Indiana winter, I wouldn't go back to store eggs ever. Once the coop/run is made, the maintenance is very low. Just give them lots of sunshine, feed, fresh greens, water, room to run and love. They'll be happy! ... View related article. |

Spray them with natural insect repellent. We have six dwarf fruit trees [including two bing cherry] and there's always some kind of bug eating on the leaves and/or the fruit!
