RE: Use Vinegar Instead of Dryer Sheets
How much vinegar do you put on the wash cloth to put in the dryer. Do you use a wet wash cloth with the vinegar on it, one that has just come out of the washer to use? This sounds like a good idea not to use dryer sheets.

I use about 1/2 cup of vinegar in my rinse water in the washer using a Downey Fabric Softener ball. Works well to use the vinegar in the rinse water of the washer. Linda ... View related article.

RE: Reducing Inside Temperature Without Air Conditioning
When I didn't have A/C, I had a exhaust window type fan in the window. When it was cooler at night, we turned on the fan, lifted windows where we were to bring in the outside cool air. In the morning, when the temperature was still cool outside, we would turn off the fan, close all the windows, and run inside fans. It could be as much as 15 degrees cooler inside than it was outside. Then in the evening when the inside and outside temps were about the same, I would open the windows and turn on the window exhaust fan and bring in the outside air. This is the way we survived with no A/C for about 3 years. ... View related article.

RE: Homemade Biscuit Recipe
Here is a copy cat type recipe for Popeye's Restaurant biscuits. They are delicious. Let me know if you try them.

Popeye's Biscuits

8 oz. sour cream
3/4 cup 7-Up (Do Not Use Diet Soda)
4 cups Bisquick
1 stick melted butter

Mix sour cream, 7-Up and biscuit mix. Place dough on floured board. Cut out biscuits by pressing the biscuit cutter straight down on the board. Twisting the cutter causes the biscuits not to rise as high.

Melt butter in the oven in a 9x13 inch pan. Place biscuits in pan, then turn buttered side up. Place all biscuits this way in the pan. Placing them in the pan this way allows both sides of the biscuit to be buttered.

Bake at 450 degrees till lightly browned. 10 - 15 minutes.

Makes 18-22 biscuits

RE: Recipes for a Sandwich Maker
Hope you enjoy these.

The sandwich maker is Great for eggs...you can just cook them like you would a fried egg (without all the grease) or you can mix up like scrambled eggs or with omelet fixin's.

Biscuit Sandwiches

You can put a small biscuit or half of a larger one in the bottom of
one side and flatten it out and put all kinds of toppings on it--mini
pizzas with pizza sauce and cheese and whatever other toppings you
like--sugar and cinnamon--pie filling--

Muffin mixes - They can be used (try plain corn muffin mix with hot dogs-whole or sliced= for a version of corndogs-or pancake batter with breakfast sausages).

Bisquik Batter or pancake mix or muffin mix works too-and you can add
other things with it if you want to make it more of a meal or a dessert
or a snack.

Put a little egg-beater in with maybe some salsa on top. Also use a little baking mix enough for just a couple of biscuits and put them in the snack maker. Have also done it. With the egg on one side and biscuit on the other at the same time.
Fluffer Nutter

Peanut butter
Marshmallow cream
Bread
Butter

Butter the outsides of the 4 slices of bread. Spread peanut butter on the inside side of two slices of bread. Spread the other two slices with marshmallow cream. Place the peanut butter and the marshmallow cream sides together, place the buttered sides down on the sandwich maker. Close lid and cook till toasted. This will make the sandwich maker a little messy, but oh so worth it as it is so tasty. Be careful as the peanut butter and fluff get very hot. May burn your mouth unless it cools.
Fruit Pies

Strawberry, blueberry, cherry or apple pie filling
Bread
Butter
Butter the outside of 4 slices of bread. Place 2 slices of bread, buttered side down on the sandwich maker, then place pie filling on bread, and top with 2 other slices of buttered bread on top of the pie filling. Close pie maker and cook till golden brown. (to make these special, add a small amount of cream cheese on the pie filling)
