RE: Caramel Apples
These sound like the "Fried Apples" that I order every time we eat at Cracker Barrel. Now I can eat them at home too. Thanks for sharing! ... View related article.

RE: Craft: Tablecloth Dress
Great job, April!! This reminds me of a dress that I had in the 60's. OOPS!! That gives you an idea of how OLD I am. ;o) Anyway, you really used your creative powers to make a very striking dress!! Great job!!

It is also great to see someone so close to Jesup putting a post on Thrifty Fun!! Keep up the good work. ... View related article.

RE: Short Cuts for an Injured Hand
I broke my right arm several years ago. Thankfully I am left handed but I still had plenty of things I could NOT do. Like putting on my bra. I couldn't reach back far enough to hook it. So I put the bra on the bathroom counter in front of me and hooked it. I then carefully stepped into it and using the left hand only pulled up one side, then the other and inched the bra up my entire body rotating sides as I went. Slipped in my right arm into the bra strap and then my left. I was so proud of myself for accomplishing this. It made me feel much better knowing that I was fully dressed! ... View related article.

RE: Treasure Your Freedom - Join A Historical Group
The National DAR website is www.otsego.org/dar. Go on the website and then click on "membership information". Then click on "click here for more information". Then look at right column and find "State or Chapter websites" and click on it. It will bring you up to a listing of states. Click on your state and then look for the nearest town to your own if yours is not listed. Then email that chapter. A form should pop up for you to complete about your ancestor. Send your email and you will be contacted by someone from the chapter closest to you about your application. ... View related article.

RE: Treasure Your Freedom - Join A Historical Group
Since submitting this post to Thrifty Fun, I have found another organization named the "Sons and Daughters of United States Colored Troops". The USCT was the African-American soldiers' Civil War army. I don't know any of the requirements for joining this organization. It took me quite a while to find it. I just wanted to be sure to include it with this post for any interested Thrifty Funners. Sorry that I didn't find it sooner to be included with the original post. ... View related article.
