RE: Hair and Well Water
I live in a city (So. Portland, Maine) and my shower nozzle is red stained now. It was new 2 years ago. I also keep getting a reddish color to my hair about a month after I color it. Does this mean the city has hard water? If so, how would I soften the water? It is a townhouse development and we have no access to the basement. Thanks for any advice on this ... RE: Poll: Are produce prices higher than normal in your area?
They are high in Maine. I just paid 2.00 for a head of iceburg lettuce and 1.29 for a cucumber at Hannafords yesterday. ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning Outside Toys
My youngest is 16 now but I remember I paid $50.00 for a small plastic picnic table for him. That was outside all of the time. I could not get that clean either, so I called the Fisher Price company and they told me to use the bathroom scrubbling bubbles product on it and let it set for a bit. I also used a scrub brush. It looked as good as new after that.

If you want it to look shiny spray some armour all on it and wipe dry. I use armout all on everything from vinyl purses to kitchen appliances (plastic).

Good Luck! ... View related article.

RE: Uses for Hampers
I purchased 2 of the pop up hampers and the handles tore off them after two loads of dry laundry. I liked them while they lasted but would not purchase them again unless I reinforced the handles some how.

Anyone have any ideas for the reinforcement of the handles? ... View related article.

RE: Giving Medicine to a Cat
My two cats had worms about 2 years ago. The vet wanted to charge me for visits and prescriptions. I just went to Walmart and got the deworming liquid for around $3.00 and it worked. You just hold the cat and put the medication in their mouth as the directions on the bottle say. I have recommended this to others and they have saved quite a bit of money. That was 2 years ago and the worms have not come back. ... View related article.

RE: Whites Aren't White After Washing
Thanks, but I am renting a Townhouse and don't know if something like that can be installed here. I don't like it here anyway. My lease runs out in July and I am looking for another house. It defintely won't be in South Portland, Maine. I have had well water and Portland City water and have never ever had to deal with this problem. My son took off one of my faucet screens and there was all kinds of red(?) stuff.
