RE: Improving Self Confidence
When your husband criticizes you, tell him you aren't working for him, you're working for Jesus! And Jesus loves you! When I do laundry, I pretend it's Jesus' laundry. When I wash dirty dishes, I pretend I'm cleaning them for Jesus. It helps change your perspective. Every job I do, I approach like this and that way it becomes more pleasant. It really doesn't matter what your husband thinks or what he says. As long as we're doing our best for the Lord, that's all that matters! ... View related article.

RE: Rates for Cleaning Services
My husband and I do the same thing together and charge $15 each. So for one hour we get $30 total. Sometimes one of us can't make it to a job, so that job turns into two hours for the one person (at $15/hr) and the customer still pays $30. Hope that helps! Good luck! ... View related article.

RE: Ideas for Mother's 80th Birthday
This isn't really a theme, but it makes a wonderful gift. Write down 80 things you love about your mom. It could be special qualities she has or the way she cooks your very favorite meal or memories of things she's done for you or memories of trips or holidays, etc. Some could be funny, but most should be from the heart. I've don't this for both my parents and my step dad and it was the best present they ever got. Don't we all want to know how we've made a difference and impacted the lives of others? 80 memories of your mom is a fabulous way to tell her you love her! (you won't be able to think of 80 in one sitting, so try doing 10 at a time until you come up with 80.) ... View related article.

RE: Modernizing a Tiny Kitchen
We did the same project for a friend. We repainted the ceiling, the walls, and the cabinets white to give it a fresh, clean look. Her old cabinets were 1970s, mustard yellow! On the white cabinets we stenciled a yellow pineapple. Then we found some cheap wooden knobs on ebay and painted them yellow (her old cabinet pulls were metal and gross).

I sewed some new curtains and got a cheap new rug. We used art from around her house that had bright colors and brought it into the kitchen. You can find cheap art at thrift stores or garage sales. Here's a look of the finished kitchen! I wish I could upload the "before" shot. Just picture the cabinets 1970's gold color to match the stove and a dingy curtain and faded walls. This is so bright and cheery! She loves it! ... View related article.

RE: Repairing a Damaged Painted Canvas
I'm also an artist and the advice above is correct. You can mist the back with a water or dampen a paintbrush and lightly "paint" the back with water. It will tighten up as it dries.
