| RE: Dye Transfer on Football Uniform |
|
I know someone already mentioned this, but I was at JoAnn Fabrics today and noticed that they have several different dye transfer removers. It's worth a try. I remember washing those dirty football uniforms. It took a lot of elbow grease, especially after a game in the rain! Ugh! ... View related article. |

| RE: Cheap Ink Cartridges |

I get mine at Cartridge World....they refill cartridges. Mine cannot be refilled at the shop, but they still have my type of cartridge in stock for about half the price of what it is at other stores. (They have to send my type out to be refilled.) ... View related article. |

| RE: Is My Puppy Purebred? |
|
She's lovely, but she doesn't look like a pit to me at all. She does look a lot like a purebred Weimaraner, but her dainty feet indicate that she may grow to be undersized--especially since she's a female, or she's a mix. Weimeraners usually have docked tails and cropped ears, but since the "breeder" doesn't know a pit bull from a Weinmaraner, he/she wouldn't know that either. (I prefer them "natural.") Even if she's not purebred, if she has Weimaraner in her, she'll be a sweetheart of a dog. And if she's a purebred, that's frosting on the cake! Just her picture has snatched my heart...love her! ... | RE: Painting Over Varnish |
I painted all my dark, varnished interior doors--18 of them (I have a 2 bedroom condo), including the interior side of each of the exterior doors. One of the best things I ever did--it sure brightened up my condo. I lightly sanded with an electric sander, then applied 1-2-3 Primer, followed by 2 (maybe 3--can't remember) coats of semi-gloss paint. They have held up very well over 10 years' time--just a few nicks on a couple of them, which I can easily cover up with paint. Go for it!!! Marilyn ... View related article. |

| RE: Black Stains on Ceiling |
|
Depending on what the black stains look like--are they rather light or are they quite dark? If they're light, it could just be smoke stains from a fireplace or burning candles. If you don't have a fireplace or do not burn candles, then it's something more serious. ... View related article. |

| RE: Product Review: ADVANAGE Wonder Cleaner Degreaser (Citrus) |
|
This is not a new product; I purchased mine several years ago, and don't doubt its cleaning ability. However, when I looked at the brochure that came with it, I noticed that it cannot be used on no-wax floors. It actually strips the no-wax coating. You'll notice there are no dilutions on the bottle for cleaning floors. I thought: if it strips the protective coating on floors, what else will it harm? Also, the lady who sold it to me led me astray as to other uses of it (I don't remember anymore what she said). Wanting to return it, I remember spending quite some time contacting the distributor (in Arkansas--the main office is in Illinois)--in fact I was beginning to suspect a scam because I had such a difficult time reaching someone. When I finally talked with someone, I said I wanted to return it and was told I couldn't do that because the car with the salespeople in it was no longer in the area. After much discussion, the woman who I talked to agreed to return my money. That was several years ago, and I've still got a full bottle. It was terribly expensive--I find it much cheaper to clean my windows and mirrors with vinegar and water...no streaks and cheap! ... View related article. |

| RE: Use Junk Mail To Mark Dates On Cans |
I agree with Debbie...canned goods last for years. Too many people are throwing away perfectly good food, or in a rush to use it by the expiration date. The majority of expiration dates are far too short. Even eggs are good for from 3 to 5 weeks, and milk can be used usually for a week past the date on the container. Some canned foods may not be of the best quality after several years, but the majority of people will use them before a few years pass...and can canned goods really go bad? In fact, I was not even aware that canned goods had expiration dates, and I've been around for 70 years!! I just checked some canned salmon I have and the expiration date is in 2012! And some Amy's soup has 2010 as its date.
I really think you're going to a lot of extra work for nothing....perhaps you can find another use for junk mail envelopes....they can always go into the recycling bin. ... View related article. |

| RE: "Miracle on Main Street" Themed Float |
Why not use the original Christmas? Have a sign saying, "Main Street, Bethlehem" and then a depiction of the first Christmas? Depending on the number of people you have participating, and room on the float, in addition to Mary and Joseph and the baby Jesus, you could have shepherds and angels and maybe some large stuffed animals (or real ones). No kings, though; they didn't come for about two years after Jesus' birth (Lk. 2:1-14).
What greater miracle is there than God coming to earth as a baby, growing, teaching and eventually willfully dying so that we, when we repent of our sin and believe and trust Him as our Lord and Savior, can have our sins forgiven and look forward to living with Him in heaven? That's Christmas!!!
