Profile For dmc13 - This is me
  1. I'm a soon to be 63 year old women who is getting close to retirement with mixed feelings about that retirement. I have worked with special needs children or adults since 1973 (that explains my mixed feelings).   I do a number of crafts, love kids , am a animal lover, and am a Red Hat Lady.  Admittedly, work and not my home has always been # 1 and hoping to change that sometime.  Thftyfun com has become by favorite site.  I have a nephew, niece in-law, and grandnephew in Fla. and a niece in Albany. I have 1 broher and 1 sister.

RE: Craft Project: Recycled Flower Vase
Thanks for the extra solution of how to get labels off jars. This is also cute and would make a nice gift as well as decorative piece. Sometimes you want to give flowere but you haven't a vase to put them in that you can afford. This means you can spend more on the flowere or just make a nicer presentaion without spending all the extra money on a vase. ... View related article.

RE: Red Hat Society Club Ideas
Dear editors:
Thanks for the editing! It is much appreciated. My friends are mentally challenged and not mentally changed. I would be scratching my head a lot and would not be able to clear that up. Again, thanks ... View related article.

RE: Red Hat Society Club Ideas
In answer to GlennsMom: A mentally challenged women is a women who was born with some developmental disability due to physical damage to the part of the brain that is responsible for cognition. They are often labeled as mentally retarded, autistic,or have a combination of disabilities (blindness, CP, deafness, etc) that have hampered their ability to learn as the average person learns.

Basically what I was asking for was input from people who had more experience in a variety of red hat groups than I have had. Since the Red Hat Society is made up of women 50 or over, it is exclusively women who attend on a consistent basis. I hope that answers Glenns Moms question.

Editor's Note: The text "mentally changed woman" is now corrected to "mentally challenged woman" in this article. I scratched my head a bit on "mentally changed woman" myself. Thanks for the clarification. ... View related article.
