Buy Grolsh Beer (I think that's how you spell it). It has a swing top lid. It's a self corking lid that is attached, so you can drink a 1/2 a pint and recork & vacuum seal and finish later.

Vegetable oil or baby oil works to remove the stickiness, without wasting electricity. Peel off what you can and then wipe or spray on the oil, let it soak in for 15 mins or so, then peel.

It works! Also you can use turtle wax on an old bath tub that has become porous. SAFETY NOTICE... if you turtle wax an old tub or shower be careful it will be slippery and you need to use a shower mat or stick ons. But it really does put a shine on an old tub.
