RE: Use Vinegar Instead of Dryer Sheets
I have this book also! And I use Vinegar instead of fabric sheets. Fabric sheets do stop up the screen on your lint trap of the dryer. I have also used diluted fabric softener on a wash rag. I use very little of the FS and mostly water. I have a downy ball that I use, too. Mostly, though, I use the vinegar.

The cleanest my clothes ever were was when I used homemade laundry soap with the vinegar in the rinse. And smelled like the great outdoors without the pollen! ... View related article.

RE: Ask For Christmas Gift Ideas In October
But Casey, you can buy them a Corvette, just buy a model car, lol. As for a Hawaiian vacation, how about some sand and small tiny shells in a box (say a shoe box), add a small umbrella (like they use in drinks), and a small thing of sunscreen. You have a Mini Hawaiian vacation in a box, lol. I do love your idea about the Questionnaire for Christmas gift ideas.

RE: Substitute for Candied Fruit Peel in Recipe
I made a unbaked fruit cake one year and used the colored jell candies. Like the Orange slices. I found the different colors and flavors at the dollar store. It was wonderful and the best fruitcake I had ever eaten. Did I mention that I don't care for fruit cake?

RE: Removing Permanent Marker
You might try a "Magic type Eraser". But test it first as it might scratch the plastic.

Or you might try the cleaner for the dry erase boards. I don't know if this will work or not, though. I've never tried it on permanent marker. I know that acetone will take it off, but it also melts plastic. ... View related article.

RE: Controlling Fleas in the House
First of all you need to get rid of the fleas outside. And then buy the flea bombs and use as directed. We control our flea population by spraying the yard in early spring and mid summer. We also flea bomb the house every year at the first sign of fleas. ... View related article.

RE: Making Water Based Concrete Stain
Buy a small bottle of acrylic paint. Water it down so it is pretty runny. Use as desired. You might want to test this first as you may need to add more paint or more water as desired.

RE: Removing Hot Pepper Juice From Skin
I have found that the best way is to prevent the peppers from coming in contact with your skin. I always use rubber gloves when working with hot peppers. No burning hands and no blisters, either. I use the gloves that you would wash dishes with. They are a tight fit. I have a pair especially for peppers and onions. ... View related article.
