RE: Activities for Special Needs Seniors
I have been around all ages of special needs people and find that music lights up their life and brings them to listening. Perhaps you can find out her favorite type or just play music and see when she responds. Blessings for being such a caring pe rson. ... View related article.

RE: Good Gift for a Departing Soldier
Phone cards so that he can call family and they will be prepaid... or a pay as you go cell phone with time on it. Often you can get a free phone if you buy certain amount of minutes from Trac-phone.

Be sure to get his address and send cards, letters and packages of cookies and goodies he cannot get where he is and enjoyed at home. ... View related article.

RE: Laptop for a College Student
I would definitely involve your son as I am sure he knows exactly what he needs in a laptop and people at Best Buy or other computer stores will talk to you about each feature and allow you to compare prices, etc.

RE: Tips for Traveling With an Infant
Just flew a few weeks ago with my granddaughter who is 10 months old. Would suggest you bottle feed the baby on take off and landing as their ears are effected. Did not do that on our trip going, but did when we returned. Tremendous difference. You could also have a lollipop handy and hold it and let the baby lick it, to keep it swallowing. Also we learned you can take a stroller to the door of the plane and they will take it there and then have it ready when you get off - no charge - be sure to put a luggage tag on it. Have snacks and a book and small toys, and if anyone offers to help you let them. Us Grandmas can and are willing to give Mom a hand. ... View related article.

RE: Caring for an Aging Parent
Call your Area Agency on Aging - they have many helping services you may apply for. Also take care of YOU. As your health and mental health is important in caring for your Dad. Accept any help you may be offered, especially 'time' for yourself to get out and do something fun - it can be very stressful but when he passes you will miss him terribly, so be sure to do for yourself while you are caring for him. ... RE: Adopting a Labrador/German Shepherd Mix
Great Choice - great mix. We live on a farm and have had two of these adopted from a shelter. They are loyal and very playful; easily trained inside or out. Ours came and went within the house and the outside as they pleased. They loved people but could be controlled from jumping and bothering visitors, and were protective, but not nasty or barking bothersome. Lucky pup, lucky family! ... View related article.
