RE: Bumper (Himalayan)
These types of stories just squeezes the air from my lungs, tears from my eyes and something I can't describe from by heart. I'll leave it at that. ... View related article.

RE: Mice Urine Odor in Ventilation
I'm not sure how to get rid of the odor, but I did see this on TV the other day. Mice cannot control their bladders. The are dribbling constantly as they go about their business. Which shocked me because I had a mouse problem a few months ago when My husband took off the wall panel behind the washer and didn't put it back when he finished working back there.

I found droppings in my kitchen drawers and cabinets. We got rid of the mice, I cleaned everything, then saw that on TV. I had to go back and clean again. Best thing to do would be to make sure everything is good and tight where the little buggers can't get in. ... View related article.

RE: Ground Beef Recipes
Have you tried casseroles? This is something I throw together when I'm busy and don't want to stand over the stove in the evening. If I have a project I'm going to be working on, I prepare this in the morning, put it in the fridge and pop it in the oven for supper.

Brown hamburger with chopped onion.
Make a box off Mac and Cheese.
Add hamburger mixer to the prepared Mac and Cheese.
Add a can of cream of anything, chicken or mushroom soup, what ever you have on hand.
Add how ever many slices of cheese you want.
I add a little canned stewed tomatoes, only I make sure the tomatoes are good and smooshed.
Add some salt and pepper (I usually add that to the meat as it's browning)

Spray a casserole dish, pour in the mixture. Cube up any stale bread you have, spread the cubes over the mixture, melt some butter and pour it over the bread. Bake at 350 until it's bubbly and the bread and butter has browned. ... View related article.

RE: Freezing Green Peppers
I'm going to assume you're talking about bell peppers. For years all I have done is take all the seeds out and the stem, cut them into slices then put them in a freezer bag and pop them in the freezer.

I like to put bell pepper and onion in my tomatoes when I put tomatoes up in the freezer. So last week while my tomatoes were blanching. I chopped the bell pepper up and what I didn't use in the tomatoes, I put in the freezer.
I hear you can freeze onion too. ... View related article.

RE: Fleas Repellent for Outdoor Kennel
I feel for you, I really do. We have the 'Battle of the fleas' every summer. This summer hasn't been near as bad as the past years.

One thing you can try is using Ivory Liquid Soap. Use a garden sprayer attachment. Fill it with Ivory and set the dilution dial to about 2 tablespoons. Really saturate the area, then let it dry real good before letting the dogs or anyone into the area. Soap suffocates the fleas.

Last year my husband added a little diesel to some flea killer insecticide he had and used it in the kennel and the tobacco barn. The oil in the diesel sticks to the flea. He made sure he sprayed after it rained when the ground was hard and packed and made it harder for the fleas to bury themselves in the soft sand or dirt.

He actually took a hose to the barn and saturated the floor with water before spraying with his concoction. We kept the dogs away from the area until we felt it was safe to put them back out.

The main thing is being consistent during the flea season. You can't spray a few times a week for a couple of weeks and then stop, thinking you've taken care of the problem. When it comes to fleas, we will never 'take care of the problem' indefinitely. You have to get on a schedule and stay on it faithfully. ... View related article.

RE: Cat Urine Odor on Wood Cabinets
Dousing it with white vinegar helps, the vinegar smells for awhile, but it should fade over time and may make the cabinet unappealing to the cat. Some people say Pine Sol works, I guess you would douse it real good too.

RE: Keeping Dogs from Peeing in My Yard
This is wonderful, I have a little chihuahua who is housebroke and paper trained, but the little bugger still steps out the front door and does her business on the door-mat or right at the bottom of the front-step, which is the first place your foot hits when you step down.

I think I'll get a little Cayenne pepper and sprinkle the mats. ... View related article.

RE: Clean the Refrigerator's Drawers and Shelves in the Dishwasher
I despise cleaning a refrigerator, always have. I think all that leaning and bending over just wore me out. When it was time for a new fridge, we got one that has the freezer in the bottom. Now my refrigerator stays clean. I like not having to wonder what that strange container is way in the bottom, in the back. ... View related article.

RE: Using Crumbled Deodorant
Hi Joyce,

That is a wonderful tip. There is no telling how much deodorant I have thrown out over the years because of it crumbling and falling out of the dispenser. A knee high? I don't ware them but buying a pair for that purpose would be worth the money. ... View related article.

RE: Buying A Venus Fly Trap
Hi,

I've had these little plants over the years and they're really neat.

The link I've added is really interesting.
