You do have a fine eye. I'm particularly fond of the shadows on the stair picture. Most wedding photos bore me senseless. These are the kind of pics that won't make their kids snicker and roll their eyes 20 years from now.
Don't know what you do for a living now, but I agree with Cassie, you should take classes and make the most of a natural talent. Even if it's for a little extra money or just for fun. The entire industry has changed so much with the widespread use of digital. What used to require pricey cropping, enhancing, and airbrushing is now so simple. Just good software, a little knowledge, and an eye for detail. What used to require rooms full of equipment now fit on a desktop.
I'm sure you've been hearing it from friends. Now you'll hear the same thing from a bunch of unbiased strangers. ... View related article.
Oh Roxanne, you made my day! You brought back a long buried memory. About 40 years ago, my mother went to a halloween party as the Jolly Green Giant's wife. She used a food color concoction to dye her hair and skin green. Came out of her hair fine but refused to budge from skin folds. She had green ears until it finally wore off. Where was your tip then, when she needed it! She has a little bit of alzheimers these days and remembers long ago far better than today. I've gotta call and remind her of green ears! ... Instead of cotton balls, I use cheap kitty litter. The no frills kind. We keep a large container of it in the garage to absorb oil spills.
I dilute a few drops of essential oil in a little bit of water and sprinkle it over a handfull of litter. It soaks up the liquid like a sponge, and after it dries, holds it's scent for a looong time.

Lemon is also my favorite for anything used in the bathroom. I use bergamot in the bedroom as an air freshner. I also make sachets for drawers with a little scented litter sealed in envelopes. Oil of wintergreen is my old, all purpose standby for getting rid of odors.
I also use essential oil in little oil burners, although I dilute a drop in bland cooking oil. I funnel some cooking oil into a little bottle, add a drop of the good stuff and shake. Keeps a long time if it's tightly capped and kept out of direct light.
Never thought of the toilet paper roll idea. I just took a small envelope sachet off a shelf in my linen closet and stuffed it in the roll. Thanks for the great idea. ... View related article.
