I hate to suggest this, but if you are truely desperate for a computer, you could go to a rent to own store like Arron's or Rent-a-Center. You will end up paying ALOT more in the long run because you just have to pay $99 a month, but for either 12 months, 18 months or 24 months, depending on what you get.

You can make scrunchies. Sew a tube about 10 inches long with the fabric inside out, then turn it, pull elastic through it pretty tight, then sew the ends.
