RE: Stopping Leg Cramps
Hi, I can really understand how that pain is so awful, and for some reason it wakes me up out of a deep sleep and I have yelled, which woke my husband up.The other hard part is that they say you need to get out of bed and walk it off. I take calcium as well, I haven't tried the soap bar. I have heard that it might be that I am dehydrated. Of course you can actually drink too much water. Lois from Bellevue ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning Artist Brushes
Thank you to Cyinda and those that have responded to my questions.I learned some things too. I was especially interested in the information about a medium to help acrylic paint blend better. I wouldn't enjoy painting if I didn't have something to help.Tke main thing I use is Folk art blending meadium. Also I look for other ideas, such as aloe gel, and I have even used antibacterial dish soap etc. The one thing you don't want to use is anything that has alcohol, it seems to curle the paint. I mainly paint on black card stock. Sometimes I use the silver or gold paint and sometimes a little glitter, I don't want to make it look tacky.

My paint brushes are comparable to barbie dolls, some of them get thrown away and some get haircuts. I have not perfected that but try to use a hair scissors or embroidery scissors.I try to trim the brushes on the sides, if you get close to a light you can see the bristles that are sticking out. One more thing and I can imagine others feel this way.If people ask me what I want, I tell them I don't want a bouquet of flowers, bring me brushes instead. We have a little stress in our family because my husband has a neurologic, physical disease called arachinitis, he has incredible pain, but he is such a wonderful guy. Thanks I got a little lengthy in my thank you. RE: Faded Mock Crocodile Purse
I think that I have a solution for you, but first you should try it on a place that won't show as easily, like you could test it on the bottom of the purse if it is flat, or inside where the straps may start.Permanent Markers come in a turquoise, and lots of other colors, greens too, you could see if there turquoise would be a good match, and you could add more green or more blue, let it set for a few days, You may want to use a sealer, over your work, like some kind of clear spray.Your idea about shoe dye might work, but you would probably need a clear spray, of course follow all those safety rules.I have used permanent marker on my shoes when they start looking worn out. RE: Distressing Recipe for Colored Inks
I haven't tried this, and I forgot if you are wanting the solution to be acid free.I don't do a lot of scrapbooking, but I do some art crafts. Here are a couple ideas, without the expense of buying ink, you could brew some strong tea, and let it evaporate, so that it is not as thin as you would drink, or you could do the same thing with coffee, people use tea to dye items that they want to look antique. There are all kinds of inks that give that older look.Hope you find what works for you.Kersti ... RE: Leather Sandals Smell Bad
This is a bit off your subject, but I was trying to find a place to fit it in, I live in Wahington and I am always ont he look-out for comfortable shoes. We have a variety, pharmacy called Bartells, and I found the most comfortable pair of shoes for 9.99.They are that garden shoe, the kind that have a wide toe and little holes on the top. They are very cushy.Kersti, from Bellevue,

RE: Chocolate Stain on a Pant Suit
The lady that recomended the hot water may be correct, but I would be concerned that the hot water would set the stain, I think I would try cold first, then a product for stains, on the spot itself, like oxyclean, or shout or something that has enzymes that eat at the stain, then maybe gradually work up to a higher water temp.I am not a professional but I do play one at home with my own stains. RE: Home Remedies for Kidney Stones
When my husband had a kidney stone, his Dr. told him to avoid spinach, I guess it is because of the sand that it is grown in.I don't know if it is the fresh or frozen spinach.Kersti ... View related article.

RE: Making Foam for Your Cappuccino
I think I lost my machine when I moved, but you are saving so much money, and you can modify your recipes, to save money and calories. Can't say I have completely broken away from buying them, and another idea is to get the kind that you find at 7 eleven for about 1.49, I also had a latte from another gas station that tasted like the real deal.In the summer you can try different recipes to make iced lattes similiar to the granita's.Make your recipe hot, and let it cool a bit and put it in ice cube trays.Kersti ... RE: Learn a Sense of Your Size
I think that I am the feedback hog of the day, but I have to tell you about my experience a few days ago.We have to be careful with our money like just about everyone else and there dog, these days.We had to go to Spokane for a family situation, and in a few days our Church was going to have a Women's retreat that my daughter and I were going to attend and the Church helped pay our way.I was able to buy one pair of black pants at Wallmart, but it was a little of a splurge, and everything else looked so tempting, because of the bright spring/summer colors, I wanted to buy it all, but had to stop myself. It was the night before we were going to leave Spokane and then just had another day to get ready for the retreat. We spotted a dollar store and there were two to decide from, the one we stopped at was the closest to the side of the street we were driving on.I was thinking it would be nice if I could maybe find a pair of earings, or something to brighten the clothes I already had.I spotted a rack of colored tee shirts and a few capri type pants to match, my mouth just about fell open, these were marked Medium.I am not even close to medium, so I looked further and saw my size. This next part is the clincher.I love clothing but I hate scratchy tags, when I am at home I look crazy because some days I will where something inside out, till I can take the time to get the tags off. It's kind of like the princess and the pea. That nylon thread and the fabric they make tags out irritate my neck, so I discovered these tee shirts were tagless, and a brand name to boot.I have learned that somebody bigger than me, knows all of my needs and the fact that I could buy a bright lavender outfit for a dollar a piece without tags is an amazing detail.Kersti P.S. The clothing was marked with an M over the real size, like the original author said, don't limit yourself to what looks like the wrong size, also my Mom in law taught me to look at tags at used stores, if the tags look new the clothing most likely is new, however in my case of tag sensitivity those little things can be sewn in there so well and some can outlive the garment. Thanks Thrifty Fun for letting me ramble here, you are welcome to edit this. ... RE: Learn Calligraphy
I agree, several years back. my husband gave me a calligraphy set for our anniversary.I had always loved the look, and so I decided to teach myself.I think that it can be entirely up to the individual, unless it is for a class or super formal occasion.I think that you can develop your own style. Also as you feel more comfortable you can earn a little money or help out a friend with addressing wedding invitations.I love to crochet, make ribbon roses, calligrahy, draw and paint, and from those things and while working I did get carpal tunnel sp? syndrome, so even though it is off the calligraphy subject, it is important to learn ways to help prevent it.I don't know all the proper body mechanics, but when I am sleeping I tend to roll my hand over and need to wear a writst splint to prevent this at night.I would still say don't take my crafts and computer away from me.Back to the calligraphy, you can personalize so many things and can include it in art work. You can calligraphy someone's first name and think of the qualities that person has that would involve the letters in their name, like Susan, Special, Unique, Sensitive, Amazing, Nice. Hope it help's,Kersti P.S. the wrist splint at night helps with the symptoms, and keeps you from rolling your hand over into a fist ... View related article.
