RE: Buying an Old-fashioned Dust Mop
Find out if you have a Stanley or Fuller Brush dealer in your neighborhood. Also, go on line for these companies. I was a Stanley dealer and my dust mop is 30yrs. old and still going. Hope this helps. ... View related article.

RE: Discouraging Cats from Using Neighbor's Yards for Cat Box
My kitties are inside cats, because I do not want them bothering my neighbors, plus I don't want them killing birds. Also, I have a neighbor that leaves her cats out and they are always at my bird feeder that I had to quit feeding the birds, which is my hobby. I couldn't entice the birds in so my neighbors cats can kill them. I have asked her nicely, but she uses the excuse that her cats want out, but they all would love to be out, but you have to be a responsible pet owner and the cats are more safe inside. ... RE: Protecting Window Sills from Pet Scratches
Our kitties are indoor kitties and they just love to look out the windows. We have padded shelves so they can lay and look out. I hope that at least they have one or two windows to look out of. ... View related article.

RE: Caring for a Praying Mantis
What wonderful creatures, this is why no one should use any kind of chemicals in their yards or flower beds. Sprays are so harmful to our enviroment, earthworms, and everything else. Also, these chemicals eventually seep into the water table and also end up in the oceans. ... View related article.

RE: How to Catch an Opossum
I agree with Dorie. They are totally harmless. I throw old soup bones or ham bones out and they clean them off for food, even the skunks and their little ones. Last summer, we saw a mother with her babies on her back, she came to get a drink of water. I keep a low basin on the ground full of water, so the animals can get a drink. We also, have a heated bird bath and you would not believe all the birds that come for a drink everyday. They really have a hard time in the winter to find thawed water to drink. Any and all creatures are welcome in our yard. We feed birds all year. We buy chicken scratch and sun flower seeds to put in our feeders and throw on the ground. The bunnies come at night and eat the corn that is in the scratch. I feel so sorry for wild life, they have such a hard life and their habitat is being taken away every minute of every day. ... RE: Garden: Helpful Snake
I had a garter in my garden too. He knew I was there and I knew he was there, but we never bothered one another. I was really pleased that he was in my garden. He would sun himself on the basement window sill. Snakes are one of the most misunderstood creatures in this world. Why people think that they have to kill these little beneficial creatures is beyond me. They wouldn't hurt anyone. Another beneficial snake is the black snake. I wouldn't want them on me, but I understand and appreciate them. They have a place in this world like we do. ... View related article.

RE: Saving Money on Houseplants
I call my local funeral directors and ask if there are any plants left over from a funeral. People send alot of dish gardens for funeral viewings and alot of the families are small or they just don't want the plants. Some of these dish gardens and peace plants are just beautiful and I know they cost alot of money, so I give them a home. ... View related article.

RE: Cat Pees on Rugs
The advise on keeping her confined in one room with her box is a good idea, but first take her to the vet. I have 8 cats and no one knows when they come into our house. We use scoop litter and clean the boxes out all the time. They don't get saturated with pee and don't smell. I had a kitty that started doing that and I did confine her in a room with her box and food and she finally did very well and not anymore trouble. I am glad that you are giving her a chance, because some cats take alot of patience. ... View related article.
