Profile For inabsentia - Strivin' for Thrift

I'm a single mom who has recently medically retired from an awesome career. Since I am no longer working, I have been searching the internet for ways to save money on everything.  I like getting tips about cleaning and making housekeeping easier since my health limits me to what I can do each day. My children are my pride and joy. They are in elementary school, are excellent students and play sports. They keep me going on days when I don't feel like going.

RE: 6 Year Old Having Frequent Accidents
I am a retired therapist for adoptive/foster children. This is common in children when we are not sure of their history. If they had been abused they may be experiencing flashbacks or fears which can lead to wetting. Or, it may be developmental. Age 6 is a common age for wetting accidents and they usually grow out of it. There is a medication, DDAVP, that is used for bedwetting. It is very effective with no side effects. We used this a lot for foster children and saw a lot of success. It can be prescribed from the pediatrician and can slow or stop the bedwetting, no matter what the cause is. Good luck. ... RE: Shake Your Clothes Out Before Drying
I shake my clothes out before putting them into the dryer and the clothes are not wrinkled when done. Before I started shaking them out, I would always have something that had been thrown into the dryer in a ball and would come out wrinkled and damp. It is a very good idea to shake first. ... RE: Dog Has a Gas Problem
It may be the dog's breed that causes it to have gas. If the dog has a short snout, like a Boston Terrier or Pug, it will have gas because it takes in a lot of air while eating because of the short snout. If your dog has a short snout, there isn't a whole lot you can do (my Boston Terrier was 13 when she died. Believe me, I know about dog gas!). If it has a regular snout, it is probably the food. A lot of dog food has fillers that aren't so healthy. Researching the best, natural dog food would be your best bet. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Soap Scum From Bath Tub or Shower
I too use the magic eraser and it works wonders. I don't use soap or cleaner on the eraser but just plain water. Once I get the sticky soap scum off, I use soap on the eraser to make the tub shine. I don't have to use muscle to clean either. I have looked for years for the best cleaner and solution, and this is the best so far. ... View related article.
