RE: Oily Scalp Tips
I fail to see any connection between oily hair/scalp and unhealthy hair. I have oily hair too, and it's extremely healthy (haven't cut it in a year, and still no split ends, very silky, shiny...).As mentioned in the guest post below, I too let my hair air dry. I also wash it in the morning, so I get more oil-free hours in the day. I try to keep it away from my forehead too (don't know if it's a coincidence, but when I had bangs, my forehead used to get oilier, and so did my hair, when it was close to that area). ... RE: Quick, Tasty Meals To Serve Fiance's Mother
I don't use exact measurements when I cook, so please use your judgment! Here's how I get a quick paella out (takes me less than 35 minutes to get this done). I usually just make it with shrimp, but it's really good with other types of seafood. Also works with cubed skinless/boneless chicken thighs instead of the seafood (saute the chicken along with the onions, and omit the bouillon).

Easy Paella

1 diced onion
Olive oil (about 2-3 tablespoons)
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2-3 tablespoons of frozen green peppers
2 packets of Sazón Goya with Azafrán (seasoning with Saffron)
1 packet of chicken bouillon (or one cube)
Salt & fresh ground black pepper to taste
As much or as little shrimp, mussels, scallops (thawed out/fresh), squid/calamari (frozen in little rings) as you like (i.e. 1 lb shrimp, 1/2 bag each of mussels, scallops, squid)
Fresh parsley (if using dry, add it at the same time as the seasonings)
2 cups of rice
4 cups of water
1 small bag of frozen peas

1. Saute the onion in olive oil until translucent
2. Add minced garlic and let it cook for a bit (30 seconds)
3. Stir in the uncooked rice making sure every grain is coated with oil, add the packets of seasoning, and the chicken bouillon (3rd step takes about a minute or so)
4. Add 4 cups of water. Check for salt, and add if needed, along with pepper. Bring it to a boil, and add the frozen calamari, green pepper, and peas. Let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, covered.
5. Add the shrimp, mussels, scallops.
6. Add fresh parsley about 5 minutes before rice is done (total time needed for rice to cook is 23-25 minutes).
7. Remove from stove with the cover still on, and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Fluff with fork and serve.

RE: Ebay vs. Garage Sales
I personally like craigslist. It's very easy to post, you can add photos, and meet the seller/buyer at a public place to do the "exchange". On the garage sale, I had one last year. We needed a permit for it. My friends and I combined our treasures, did some advertising, and got ready to sell, sell, sell. We didn't do very well... We had some items with tags still on for $35, i.e., and people wanted to pay $1 for them! Also had the "early bird" character who tried to help us set up, let her little daughter loose to distract us, and also claimed she had paid for an item when she hadn't...Luckily, no one "fell" in my property and sued. I will never do it again. Too much trouble! I've used eBay as well, but to purchase items that were harder to find. ... View related article.

RE: Cell Phone Battery Longevity
I let my battery nearly discharge completely. My soon-to-be ex-husband charged his phone daily, and not only did his battery not work as well as mine, but his phone started dying too. We had the same cells, purchased at the same time.

RE: What Is This Kitchen Tool Used For?
From your description, sounds like a pampered chef roller. I've got one myself! As some of the other readers posted, it's used to stretch out dough into a pan, hence the different size on each end. Mine has a little pick tucked in the handle. It looks like a tiny fork, and that is used to make "breathing" holes into the dough. ... View related article.

RE: Cat Doesn't Use Cat Condo
Whenever one of my kitties loses interest in a particular item (which rarely happens!), I sprinkle some catnip, and let its magic do the work.

In your case, I would add catnip only to the condo, maybe in an area (corner) that would coax your kitty to get his/her full body in there and not just sniff and go. ... View related article.
