RE: When is right time to have children?
Oh man did me and my husband get harassed about having kids. We've been married 3 years, I'm 31 and he's 46 (only male in the family of 4 other sisters). There is a lot weird pressure from the families. I've never had a big craving for children and was ok if i didn't have them. Besides i liked taking off on a vaca to NYC or scuba diving in the Carribean. I am now pregnant and months before me and my husband really wanted to start a family. We just wanted to share our love because it's so powerful. I only knew when I no longer was selfish about things and the idea didn't freak me out. Financially so many things are still falling into place, in a good way. You will know when it's time b/c your path will be gently paved before you. I know it's weird but listen to your truths with what you and your husband want now or in the next 10 years. ... View related article.

RE: Problems Getting Pregnant
I'm 31 & my husband is 46. So we both got checked out. Him being an older age we were concerned with sperm count, A-ok in that area. And i got checked out to make sure all was well. I have cycles that range from 35-45 days. No PCOS or thyroid issues. I did use the Fertility awareness method where i check my basal temp first thing upon waking, check cervical fluid daily and cervical position. The charting works great and is very educational (for you and your doc) but I think mother nature is the best way. We had sex for several days in a row (I mean during the fertile time according to the FAM method and when i was real responsive, so about 11 days straight). We just had tons of sex once we ruled everything out. That worked for us! ... View related article.

RE: Using A Mouth Guard
I used to go to the dentist to get my custom night guard for grinding. I now use a kit i bought at the grocery store. It's dropped in water and you fit it to your mouth by sucking. And feel free to trim what doesn't fit. Works great for me because i can trim to make the fit way more comfortable. Cost around $20. ... View related article.

RE: Laser Hair Removal For Facial Hair
I've been getting laser hair removal for a while. I too am a freak of nature and shave my chin area 2x a day. My skin tone is fair and the hair on my chin is dark brown to red brown. I have lots of peach fuzz on my face and 10-15 stray dark brown hairs in the side burn area that i just pluck. When I used to pluck my chin hairs would get a lot of ingrowns and infections (like big pimples). So i started shaving. When i decided to get laser treatment i researched on the different types of laser machines used. I decided to go with a company that just does laser hair removal and has vested dollars to back their laser research. The machine that is used on me includes laser and radio frequency. The laser has a cooling plate which is helpful. I was told that facial hair is a little harder to treat because it is a hormonal area. I have seen some lightening and thinning, and still shave twice a day.

I get my full legs treated as well. I have hair from my ankles all the way up to my bikini line, inner thigh, and back of thighs. The top of my legs were always the most painful to shave because the hair was so thick. The hair on my legs are dark blonde-brown. I was told this was a little harder to treat because of the lack of pigment. I have had wonderful results with my legs. The hair has thinned, lightened, bald patches, etc. And it's easier to shave.

Pain----i had a hard time tolerating the pain. Not at first though. I was on a lower setting (for fair skin) and the settings gradually increased. There were times when i did cry. So.....I ordered a prescription numbing cream from Canada (with out a prescription) and it has helped dramatically. They should provide you with ice packs before/after treatment and a post-laser cream. I also take herbal relaxation pills because i get anxious about the treatment. An MP3 player has helped relax as well (leg treatments with a double pass can be 2 hours!).

Vaniqua does help, but you have to use it consistently. When I stopped using the cream, the hair came back. It's not permanent and there are some hairs that just won't go away.

Nair was always so harsh on my face and i had stubble after treatment plus it clogged my pores and i ended up with pimples. I could never stomach waxing. Too painful. Plus it doesn't make sense to me to rip something off my skin once a week. Would that cause wrinkles?

If you do decide to get treatment research the different types of lasers/machines used and the companies. Do they have just one type of machine, do they have a maintenance plan with their machines, do they have their own R&D into the machines? All they need is a doctor to run the operation and hire technicians that are trained on the machines. I opted not to go to a fancy place that can also do botox and a host of other treatments.

Also, try to not pluck as this will interfere with your laser treatment by retarding hair growth and the follicle.

I know that was a lot and hope that helps! ... View related article.

RE: Does Honey Make Hair Shinier?
For shiny hair you can mix one teaspoon of honey into 4 cups of warm water. After shampooing, pour the mixture through your hair, but do not rinse. Dry as normal.

I also deep condition once a week after using a clarifying shampoo (which helps remove build-up).

You could also try a gloss in bottled form or in box (applies like a hair color). This works great for me because I have naturally blonde hair which doesn't reflect much light because it has very little color pigmentation. I also take EFA's daily. Hope that helps. ... View related article.

RE: Long Lasting, Smudge-Proof Eyeliner
Well I live in Houston myself and the humidity can wreck havoc with eye makeup. Most of the drugstore products are too waxy for me and my eyes tend to be oily. Weird, I know. MAC makeup is the only thing I found that REALLY works. Check out the MAC Fluidline ($15). I have a pot of dipdown (brown) and blacktrac (black). Ask for a spatula at the counter, use this to grab just a little and then use your brush. A pot will last me for 6-9 months, totally worth the investment. When using an angled brush you can get thin to thick to smoky eyes. USE A PRIMER TO HELP PRODUCT ADHERE, even if you use cheaper waxy pencils. This stuff rocks period. ... View related article.

RE: Growing Hair Quickly
Very ambitious of you! Like someone else posted it does take time to grow hair and extensions might be an option, although very expensive. I have great hair genes and mine grows really fast. I do stimulate the hair folicle daily by brushing in the opposite direction (flip head over, brush back to front) and stimulate the scalp with an olive oil & peppermint or rosemary extracts (shampoo after). Hope that helps. ... View related article.

RE: Reviews Of Sleep Number Bed
My husband and I belong to Direct Buy (best investment ever). We loved the Sleep Number idea. Direct Buy doesn't have a relationship with the Sleep Number company, but they have MANY other vendors. We went to a Sleep Number store and tested the quality, construction, price, etc. Through Direct Buy we bought a better quality, superior construction bed through the supplier Innomax (Luxury Support Comfort System). We bought the bed for $800 (a serious fraction of the cost). The model we chose beats the top of the line model at Sleep Number.

The comfort factor is great because I'm pregnant and comfort means different things different days.

Good luck in your shopping. ... View related article.
