Also try your local Boy Scouts of America or Girl Scouts (2 totally separate, yet great organizations that do community projects to earn badges. I had the same problem/infestation (BAD!) and was told foggers nor cold/hot temperatures kill the Mites because they can endure extreme temps (both hot and cold)...(I tried the fogger first, only to come down the next morning to seeing Mites in the living room looking like they were having a picnic!). I got rid of the furniture & mattresses; vacuumed very thoroughly, very regularly. That was in November '07 and since then, slowly the problem has subsided.
