RE: Keeping Food Budget Down For Large Family
This is something that I have done which I did NOT think was cool but...we are big meat eaters and as you know it is expensive...although in my part of the nation being a vegetarian would be just as expensive if not more so...check out your local supermarket's clearance section(I know I felt that way too) however, I am a prissy eater, and I have found that if I pick through that section and find the freshest deals, some of which are not even past the sell by date, I save between 20 to 50 percent. If I cook it up that night or the next day it is fine and if I want to cook it up and freeze it it will last for months!! It is a lot healthier than TV dinners and I can say that I am not the only person who has picked up on this because I usually have a line of at least two people behind me trying to get a slice!! Good Luck!! ... View related article.

RE: Toddler Bangs Head During Tantrum
My son used to throw his whole body back and often bang his head when he was having a tantrum. He figured it out eventually that this was not a good thing to do as it only hurt him. He grew out of it...WHEW. I think he was relying on me to catch him before he hit the floor. He never got hurt beyond a little lump and the more I didn't bother me the less he did it. He was a smart kid who knew how to push my buttons. Nothing hurts more than your kid being hurt, and they know that. If your child needs some special care then you should definitely consult a specialist. I don't fully know your situation. All I know is that my son did that and now he is at the top of his class(he can figure things out) Good luck to you and stay strong. ... View related article.

RE: Getting Rid Of Urine Odor In Bathroom
Yuck. After my nephew's visit my bathrooms smelled horrible. I have tile floors and I think that the grout held a lot of smell. I used a product called Simple Solution, which I got at a pet store, and sprayed down the entire area, including the walls!! This worked really well. Also it is very helpful to take the toilet seat off and wash it thoroughly ( in a tub ). I thought the smell would never come out of the grout but it did. You may be surprised to see how much grime is on the seat and in the screws which secure it to the bowl. By the way, if you put bleach on urine you end up with an ammonia smell...not good. ... RE: Cleaning Oak Chairs
I have the same problem. I use a solution of double diluted Murphy's Oil Soap. I just put it in a spray bottle, set the chairs out on the deck and let the kids do the rest. Seems to work well. It also helps to wipe the chairs down again with a dry towel/cloth to get any residue off. If the finish is old or in really bad shape you may be better off sanding and re-finishing, doesn't take as long as you would think. ... View related article.

RE: Jelly Making Prices Seem High
I managed to find a clearance sale at a local store, MCP for 1.39 which I think works better than surejell..also I used one cup of pineapple juice for each 2 cups of berry juice (I made blackberry today) and it tastes awesome. Also you can add a little water to the fruit juice if you don't have enough for a full batch and it will taste just fine, if you have bought jelly at any supermarket you know that it is VERY watered down. Also scrape any leftvers from the batch into a cup, cover and refrigerate, it will taste just the same and you will have a lot of jelly that would have otherwise gone down the drain. Good Luck ...
